Good evening, dear developers. I always have a great pleasure to learn from you. Especially, I am interested in Crocoblock together with Bricks Builder. I am very stuck on one problem. If I may, here is my problem: I have two CPTs on my site created with Jet Enjine. 1. Team 2. Player Between them there is a link - many to many which has Meta field - season (Season in which the player was in the team) That is, linking the player to different teams, I am linked to the season (season is created through - glossary). Basically, I want to achieve the following: 1. In the profile of the team to display a filter where users will be able to look at the composition of the team for different seasons (when loading the page should be active current season - for example 2024-2025) Then in the selector can select other seasons and look at the composition of the team of previous years. 2. In the profile of a player, I want to display - his career (as an example, a list or table containing the following data in a row: Team Logo, team name, season to which this team is linked. For me, this is a very difficult but important task! I will be very grateful for any help! I think it will be an interesting challenge for you and entertaining content for subscribers. Thank you, and I hope for a reply.

What happens when clients want to edit elements on the page? Do they have to use bricks then or would you have to build your pages out using Gutenberg and a whole bunch of Gutenbricks templates?

Hi Dave, thank you for the video, very useful and implemented in my site. I have a question related to space between components. As we are using different Scale ratio for Headings and base text. What scale ratio should I use to separate my website components and being consistent? I mean, we are using Major Second/Minor Third for text size and Major Third/Perfect Fourth for Headers. This leads my to build two separated typgraphy sets in Core Framework. Which scale ratio should be using for Margins, Padding & Gaps between components in my site? As both sets have different font size, which font size (text/headers) should I take as reference of my scale ratio for spacing? Thank you for your time and attention

@DaveFoy, that was fantastic and informative! From what I gather, Bricks Maven currently has a tighter integration with ACSS than Brixies. Am I correct to assume this?
@DaveFoy
@DaveFoy Ай бұрын
Certainly their more recent templates, yes. Many of Bricksmaven's earlier templates weren't so well integrated, but I know they had plans to go back through older templates to update them.

Great video!! I've been using Bricks + ACSS + Frames for 1-2 years now. Been really loving it all. However now I want to try working with Core Framework + Brixies, just to see which style actually suits me better. Kevin Geary has taught me a lot when it comes to accessibility first development, but now I want to see how I feel about CF and the ability to remove it when the site goes live.

6:41 That's the reason why I hate ACSS so much and don't understand why anyone would bother with the plugin. ACSS is basically the Apple of Bricks plugins with all its patronizing and in a way also in its constraints. Kevin himself is also so incredibly arrogant and full of himself: "Either you do it my way or you're a chump.". Every one of his videos I've seen has some kind of insult in it if you don't agree with him.

Hi Dave, I recently discovered your channel and I am simply fascinated! I am a web designer and I am in the process of transitioning from Elementor to Bricks. At this moment, I am looking to make an investment with a long-term perspective (I am not a big fan of annual licenses and subscriptions, and living in Latin America, everything is extremely expensive to maintain as a recurring expense). With this in mind and looking to have a workflow with templates that help me with my designs, is the following investment okay? BRICKS + CORE FRAMEWORK INTEGRATION + BRIXIES (which I loved!). I want to understand if I am not missing anything here, from what I researched, all three licenses are lifetime... I hope my inquiry doesn't bother you. Thank you very much, you are really clear in your explanations and I value your years of experience. You are genuinely one of the few and best content creators for Bricks. Regards, Agostina

A QQ. First off, brilliant to have you pushing your focus on Bricks. I too jumped on Webflow. Loved it. Seen the light, but needed to get back to WP. So Brick is the answer. However, I've now heard your and Paul (WP Tuts) not loving Woo Commerce to sell from. I can understand BUT what have you arrived at as the better alternative? I tried going though your videos to see if you have anything on that, but couldn't get to the answer. I'm right now hoping to make the fastest loading possible WP / WC site with Bricks. So if there is a better solution I would need to find this out ASAP. :) any reply would be very welcome and helpful.

Yeah, I despise WooCommerce, you're right! Had horrendous experiences with it over many years, and seen many other people having the same. I think if you're going to use it you have to go all-in and specialise, and get yourself some very good quality Woo specialist hosting too, cos it can run as slow as a dog otherwise. The WP database was designed for blogging, not the complexities of e-commerce. I like how SureCart offload all the processing to their servers, keeping things light on your end. I'm actually trialling SureCart at the moment with a view to using it to sell my courses etc. Really liking what I see so far, and will almost definitely be switching from my current ThriveCart. But I'm no expert, unfortunately. I stay away from e-commerce sites for clients now, it's such a specialist area.

Hopefully when I can afford it, I'll get ACSS, one of the elements packs and Fancy Animations - they are expensive here in Australia!
@DaveFoy
@DaveFoy 3 ай бұрын
Yeah exchange rates can be a bit hellish, I know. Don’t feel like you need to get any add-ons unless you really need them. You’ll only know if you need extra elements till a project requires them, and strictly speaking you can write/copy the CSS for any animation. Fancy Animations just makes it easier.

Love your tutorials, looking forward to your future vids, especially your AT video. One question though, you did not include JetEngine for CPT, any reason why, I use it a lot (having bought the LTD) I dont mind moving to something else if JE is not recommended, just need to know why. Cheers.

I just don't like JetEngine. I didn't like it with Elementor, and I don't with Bricks. Always found it a bit bloated and occasionally buggy. That's not to say it's not good... it's just that I feel we can achieve a lot of JetEngine functionality either in native Bricks or with some other add-ons.

One of the things that I found to be a surprise when purchasing and installing AT for the first time is that it comes with ACF Pro built in, which I wish I would have known prior to purchasing the LTD for ACPT, though both are great.

As I understand it, if you bought AT before April 1st 2024 you get ACF Pro bundled in. But if you bought after that date, you do still get it bundled in, but you have to buy a license to be able to use the pro features. So effectively, if that's you, you don't get ACF Pro for free any more.
