Hello Bridget, there are numerous scriptures throughout the Bible that speak of God’s emotions. Anger, love, grief, comparison, jealousy, etc. To say God doesn’t have emotion is to say he’s not personal. His emotions don’t change him, though, or his promises. An article by Don Stewart at blueletterbible.org explains God’s emotions this way: “Indeed, the Bible teaches that God does have passions or emotions. This is clear. Yet they are not the same as human emotions or sinful passions. Therefore, the idea that the God of the Bible is somehow “impassible,” that He is without any passions or emotions, is not found in Scripture. He is a God who love, hates, and feels. He does have these passions and emotions. @@WorshipCenterPA I appreciate that answer. It seems like I have a disagreement based on semantics. Even so, I think it's misleading to say that God has emotions, since they are different from our human understanding of what emotion is. However, I don't have a better word, so it's a fault in the English language.
