I feel like somewhere out there in the internet there is a yen carry Jim Carey the mask meme... and I long for it.

I would like an explanation from Pippa. She is optimistic about China and eastern Russia or Siberia. What does she have to say ? about China’s population collapse?

The thesis for Chinese stocks - how's this industrial uptick gonna hold up if we see global rise in protecionism? Global steel industry is already at the brink due to Chinese dumping its overproduction everywhere. To be long China now is a non-consensus call I agree, but you're betting on something totally different than your speaker suggests.

Fascinating. Would you say that algorithms were responsible for the dramatic drop in prices we saw yesterday, as well as the quick recovery of some markets (e.g., Japan)?

Mind blowing. Loved this one. Also, these are some very new and complex concepts, explained very clearly here. Awesome

wow she carefully words things. I find Trump "fan" biased researchers hard to follow as they also have blindspots by that emotion. She is one of those few who dont forcefully lean to either side.

The Big Tech is a tool for extraction of wealth. So long as Europe had means to do extraction of their own, it was bearable. It's not anymore. A colonised European population will revolt and the order will readjust

That's because Dominique is looking at macro averages when there is a large difference between rich and poor, which means that even though GDP is "growing", for the poor people suffering CPI > 3% and losing their jobs, it's a recession/depression. Increasingly, poor people are making up a larger proportion of the economy and unemployment is trending up

At around 13 min, Duffie finally touches the elephant in the room - too much Federal gov't borrowing. He then skips to palliatives for this problem. No suggestion that much higher rates and market dysfunction should be allowed to work to chastise reckless politicians. All our universities are socialist hotbeds where market function is underminded not enabled.

I would like to see a discussion bezween Dominique and Jan Hatzius or David Mericle (GS) since together with you they were among the few to predict a hot US economy, but they now predict disinflation.
