Cool, what’s the best less pricey fluid head for spotting scopes? How big of a difference does the head make? Idk if it’s similar to a rifle (tripod) and glass (fluid head) when it comes to spotting scopes or if ya really don’t need to spend as much on a head
@AltitudeOutdoors
@AltitudeOutdoors 2 ай бұрын
The head makes a big difference. We think our head is very competitively priced. There are many on the market that cost 4x more than the Nano Pro. Fluid heads are the smoothest type of tripod head and it makes a big difference, especially with a Spotting Scope!

What boot do you like for archery elk season? I’m looking for lightweight but somehow comfortable
@AltitudeOutdoors
@AltitudeOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I like this boot for that too, but there’s quite a bit to consider. What type of country are you hunting? Are you backpacking? How much do you anticipate carrying on your back?
@RobertMoore-pt9ep

@@AltitudeOutdoors backpacking but usually setup a day camp 3-5 miles in. Typically then only carry around the daypack with 15ish lbs in it. Of course if we get an animal down pack would weigh 80-90lbs coming out

I think the altitudes could work for you. One thing about the Altitude GTX is that it is built to have a really flexible ankle. If you wan a little more support, I'd look at the new briksdal mtn, a new boot for 2023. I've got a pair and have only put about 15 miles on them so far, but they are turning out to be one of my favorite all-around boots.

In Wyoming? One thing I learned from videoing this one and talking to others about it, is that they each have very unique markings per the individual wolverine. It makes them easily identifiable from one wolverine to the next. I've spent countless hours in the mountains ever since I was a kid and I was 41 before I even laid eyes on one! torowy, it's cool that you saw one. Had you ever seen one before??

In europe everybody is looking for manfrotto tripod. I compared the models and Slik offers really much more for the price. I own 5 different Slik tripods. Very small up to huge ones. These tripods cover all my need. Taking pictures from small sweeties at the confectionery up to taking pictures from the moon with a heavy 8kg cam works perfectly. After more than 13 years of use there is nothing broken or in bad shape. By the way: Take care about cheap carbon tripods!!!! They use very cheap plastic and the carbon tubes could'nt be fixed by the clamps...

Thanks! I actually shot this buck a couple of years ago. I did get one this year though too. I'm working on making a video of it too. 170 is a great buck! But if you shoot one, you end your hunt, so it's a tough decision sometimes!

I have problems on both shoulders due to a serious motorcycle accident a few years ago and worked on the weakness to adapt and overcome. Shooting at the club outdoors will invite know-alls and snotty nosed arseheads to comment on how I should draw my bow properly. My retort to them is, go break both collarbones, shoulder blades and a couple of bones in your neck and try shooting after a years physio, then come back and correct me.

Your draw did look awkward which is understandable due to the rotator cuff. As someone who has a tear in both shoulders and have had the tears twenty years and continue to shoot 3D archery along with hunting, heed my guidance and go to a much lower poundage bow. I've shot 50lb. bows for a decade and a half just to avoid surgery and continue to hunt with wheels and string. You will regret the course you are on. I had to learn never to shoot a 60lb bow no matter how tempting. Oh, I made the mistake a few times and paid the price. Be smarter than I. Best wishes!

Yes, you can remove the ball-head and will find a 1/4" screw. So you can easily fit your cam on the tripod. By the way you are absolutely right. Action cams and 360degree cams are quite expencive and should not be fixed on a selvie stick with a small tripod!!!!!!!
