Think it's a brilliant job given your doing all this in your shed! Out of curiosity, how.long do you leave it between coats?

I have to say, that paint job does look rather splendiforous!

Why clog the extract filter with paint ? 🤔 lovely colour btw ❤️

At first, I thought you went with satin white. It actually looked kinda cool like that. But I like the color you chose better. More personality to that than just white.

Space in the shed might be ok? I made a rotating paint jig that clamps into the centre of a collapsible workmate type bench (the cheap ones from b&q).

What was the undercoat you used? is it like the vinyl undercoat that Fender and Squier use?

Hey Pat this colour looks great. Always think of Hank Marvin with that colour scheme. Not a relic guy myself, but I'm looking forward to how you achieve it. And yes, you do need an Olympic white strat in your life. More Jimi than Hank. Cheers

Fantastic paint job Patrick. So you just going to buff out the color or do you clear coat over the base coat?

That's a beautiful color. Wow. I would be hesitant to relic it.

Fiesta Red does look surprisingly orange on the video, almost "safety orange" (is that what you call it in the UK?) But yeah, it looks amazing after just one coat

My paint stick came from the same company as yours! I use a vise to hold it instead of clamps, but hey, it works! Awesome color, nice paint job Pat!

Beautiful, but isn’t the neck pickup mounted the wrong way? Keith mounted it upside down for some reason.

Looking good Pat. I'd like to see you build another bass...
@svenramnefjell77422 күн бұрын
In fact thinking of doing one myself, but using pine. Heard that the first telecaster was made of pine and that Keith’s is one of them. So wouldn’t it be more correct? And beside, easier to find good materials for cheap so if I mess up, it’s not the end of the world, try again. The urge to make something is strong in this one. Not just go out and buy something, no no no.

A good binding always elevates a guitar. And that is a good binding.
@jeffdoyle061183 күн бұрын
Nice little project. I was wondering what you are going to do with the channels cut into the wings where they will join with the main part. Are you going to fill them with something?
@Eeklex3 күн бұрын
Nice touch with the binding. I like that you’re giving this lowly uke a bit of dress-up. Remind me if you’ve said it in previous episodes: what’s the scale length? - Paul
@gregf92953 күн бұрын
The binding looks fantastic! It will go great with the pickguard too!
@petedazer33813 күн бұрын
Is that going to be a short bass, or a four string guitar, like a cigar box style? Edit: never mind, I watched the entire video and you mentioned it’s a tenor uke!
@smudgetherealmc3 күн бұрын
I’d be interested on your thoughts re the quality of the wood and general construction. I guess it isn’t always going to be the case that you can turn an existing budget guitar into something of the quality you normally produce
@snowhyt775 күн бұрын
If you replace the square stick with a dowel ( I used a broken shovel handle) and make a block with a slightly larger hole to stick the it in, then you can rotate it as you spray without unclamping. I've used this method for years and it works well. Cheap too!
@leehenderson81325 күн бұрын
That guitar is nearly a semi hollow body model.jesus.too much rostered out.

I'm surprised it didn't seem to have the thick polyester "jacket" sealer under the color coats. I've had a few Squiers with that - it's basically bulletproof.
@petedazer33815 күн бұрын
I sincerely hope you reconsider relic-ing the body…..it’s your choice obviously, but that relic trend should stop. Myself, I’d never buy one that had been artificially relic’ed. (spelling anybody). My first strat came my way in 1976, and the nick’s, scrapes and bruises were all mine. Really enjoying your channel Pat, I always pick up some good tips from you!

Patrick you should make a guitar swivel arm to mount the guitar body to and turn it right side - upside down and over, not to say your current method is bad, you do an excellent job for the equipment and space you have! One quick turn and you can spray both sides without unclamping! You can buy them but you are really good at making tools and such, you could do and it show us how you do it! We learn from your making what you need. Carry on ‘till next time. Thanxz

Have you checked the white balance on whatever cam it is that's gone orange? It seems like a color balance issue to me and it always effects what I think is the same camera. By the way, I'm really enjoying this series. Nice work!
