I've got a 2014 P85, and this doesn't work... Your bolt comes out far enough for the end to clear the one half of the bracket. Mine has a different shape on the casting (toward the front of the car) that's way thicker than on yours. And of course it lines up to the bolt so it can't slide out as far. I don't see a purpose for the additional material on mine either, just a thick spot right in front of the bolt. Tesla must have done that to increase sales of bolts :) Very glad it worked for you, and glad to know it's possible at least on some of these without cutting the bolt. I saw this months back, finally got to messing with the link (changed the camber) and thankfully found your video again to see things changed through the years.

I'm curious, what state are you in??? Those nuts didnt look nearly as rusty as mine were. You are either gonna have to cut the nut off with a torch, cutting saw, use a nut splitter, or get creative because they arent coming off with traditional hand tools. Im in Indiana btw.

I’m in Wisconsin but I’m religious about multiple underbody flushes in the winter to wash away the salt. Also when I do regular maintenance like brake pads or tire rotation, I use the opportunity to cover bolts with anti-seize to help prevent road salt from getting on the threads.

@@marenothecarguy8361 Great video!!! I thought you were in the South or somewhere hot and dry with no salt, like Nevada or Arizona. But yeah bolts looked 1000x better than the ones I'm fighting with right now. 😆 Gotta do more winter preventative maintenance for sure.

I hit the link to aliexpress. I don't see any options presented to get the Alcantara covering, looks like it's a plain black leather covering. I see the heated option but how to you specify material?

Just found your channel. I also have a 2015 Model S85D. I would love to change my steering wheel, the top of the full wheel blocks part of the instrument cluster. Can you share where you bought the yoke wheel? Going to check out your other video's, I saw the rear control arm video, also very good.

Now after installing the cts-v cluster, I am further following your steering wheel removal video. Since cts-v has paddle shifter button behind, wondering you have plans to modify to bigger paddles? I am thinking to remove the paddle button and diy with bigger ones. Thx.

I’ve only found one decent manufacturer of paddle shifters for. I think you are going down the right path of fabricating your own. I’ve been considering it but no real movement yet.

When you changed your steering wheel from original to the v series one. And if your in automatic when you put the car in sports mode, are you in fact able to shift the vehicle through the steering wheel now instead of manually shifting through the parking lever

@@BIGmil20 I just don’t get how spending years saving for”mods” is different than saving to just get a good car. I’ll be honest, this whole supposed”car culture and express yourself with”your build” stuff” is dumb to me, specifically when applied to performance. Like a”modded” C6 grandsport with 800 HP and lambo doors will NEVER be even a lightly tuned ACTUAL ZO6, because they are simply built different, all that so called”shine” is referred to as generic or rice, depending on application.

@optimus3305
@optimus3305 8 күн бұрын
@@cdbennett2332 I agree, but that actually proves my point, there is almost zero difference between a V6 and V8 Camaro, but someone will build a V6 Camaro to ZL1 power levels and say it’s the same, no it isn’t, they are COMPLETELY different.
