Thank you for this video! Teaching godly character is one of the main reasons we decided to start homeschooling. Should I really focus only on that before starting academics? We’ve been working really hard on obedience lately, but it’s still not always immediate, completely, and with a good attitude. I’ve barely even started to try training them in the other three.
@Homeschoolingtorah12 күн бұрын
Honestly, if you can get the foundation right, everything else will be so much easier. Question... how old are your children? Maybe I can point you to more resources and practical ideas.
@AlltheThings-wc1mc11 күн бұрын
My kids are 7, 8, 9, and 12. I’m embarrassed admitting they’re that old and we’re still working on this. They’re adopted so I haven’t had them forever, but 3 of 4 have been ours for 5 years, so…
@Homeschoolingtorah10 күн бұрын
@@AlltheThings-wc1mc No worries about that! They just need to learn skills that they haven't yet had a chance to master, right? If you think of obedience as a skill to be taught, practiced, and mastered, it can save a lot of your own frustration. One website you might like is www.doorposts.com/

Im so grateful for the wisdom you share Anne. I still reference the notes I took after first watching this video a couple years ago. “An angry child needs justice, a fearful child needs wrapped in love” I like to think our children (and myself) have benefited greatly from those words as I’ve tried to be intentional and recognize those needs.

What calendar do you use for feast days? Is the planner oriented to that calendar? We use zadokite so I’m wondering if it would sync with that. Do I see Torah portions listed out? So nice.
@Homeschoolingtorah15 күн бұрын
@@ChristinaBennett-p2l our family personally uses the Aviv Sighted Moon calendar, but the planner only shows the dates that the new moons are expected to be seen in Jerusalem, leaving each person the ability to use their own calendar. And yes! The Torah portions are listed and are taken from www.hebcal.com/sedrot/

Thank you for this. This is exactly how I feel concerning my homeschool and my garden. I start off so optimistic, and then I start my research and my planning, and I'm over it because it's so hard to find all the parts that will fit my large family. Thank you for showing those of us who feel this way that it's normal and we are not the only ones. I pray to switch over to homeschooling Torah full time this coming year. Thank you for all that you do, for those of us who just aren't quite there yet. ❤Shalom.

@Homeschoolingtorah21 күн бұрын
Thank you for the question! Selling our curriculum through a membership to Homeschooling Torah is how we support our family, so they are only available through a membership. <3 However, keep in mind that many of our books are also available in printed form in our shop, and no membership is required for those. homeschoolingtorah.com/store/

Hi. We are using your curriculum for our kids next year. We are dedicated to using scripture to guide or teachings and schooling or kids. This has let us to stop teaching solar system heliocentric theory as it’s not biblical and we now teach biblical cosmology which says there’s a creation our Father created and it’s covered by the firmament. Our Bible view on this topic doesn’t allow us to teach secular ball earth physical science. I pray this is a topic you will consider when you make your curriculum and think of those like us who can’t subscribe to a spinning earth idea taught by secular people who agree with big bang and evolution rather than a firm and unmoving one covered by a dome. ❤

I love your lessons! I have a friend who also doesn't allow her children to read about magic. I was wondering how you explain all the "magic" in the bible. Of course we don't call it "magic" but to a person who is reading it out of knowing the Creator. It really is all the same. There is good and evil. In the end times when the antichrist arises he is going to do "magic". I think children need to understand that "magic" is real. God does miracles that are in line with what we call "magic" in this world. You also said you tell your children that animals can't speak. How can they understand the serpent in the Garden of Eden or the donkey that spoke to Balaam? I am just curious how you handle these discrepencies between what you are teaching and the word.
