Lol...650 as a 1st bike😅😅😅😅. Of course youll be able to deal with 210kg metal. GSX650f ' unleash the beast' lol. English humor. Good bike true, but NOT for begginers, and not a beast. It's not the bike you ride, it's your skill you ride, and as beginner, you have none. Stick to 250cc, and you change bike, as your skill level increases.

Mine did the same with the clutch slipping in the higher gears when giving the throttle a hard twist. There is a short mechanical linkage on top of the clutch housing. The hydraulic clutch activates this linkage that is between the hydraulic slave cylinder and the clutch shaft. Anyway, the linkage was too tight and needed adjustment. Wasn’t letting the clutch plate fully engage. Easy adjustment that SHOULD be checked by the selling dealer. 7:40

I have the XC800 and it puts nothing but a smile on my face when I ride it. I'm sure the 1200 comes in a fair bit less expensive than the BMW as well, which helps pay for the tours. It looks like an awesome bike, love the whole layout and colour scheme as well.

Why did the dealership let that bike out with a poorly adjusted clutch? It definitely sounds like it's slipping. They should've taken it out first, like they should with every bike, prior to delivery. 🤦‍♂️

I have just bought a new 1200 GT Explorer. I had a 2022 GT Explorer which was plagued with unreliability, but when it worked was a fantastic bike. I did a tour in Europe on it and it was just brilliant. I got so sick of the reliability issues though that I complained to Triumph who, in fairness to them, compensated me. Also, having looked at the forums, it seemed as though I had been unfortunate and had had every known issue, all on my one bike. Most people seemed pretty happy with theirs. So, I've decided to give it another go and bought the updated model which has some of the issues ironed out (I'm told). So far so good.

@seanheadley7090 it should be a simple adjustment that should have been caught on the pre delivery inspection. When you get yours, check the metal arm on top of the clutch cover. It should have about 1/8" of play. If it doesn't, get it sorted before you ride it away.

Hi, I've had my GT for a year now and I like it a lot , it's not perfect and some things could be improved but what bike is perfect? But I have to take issue with some of your comments .1 aftermarket top boxes are available. 2 I find it very light and precise . 3 cruise control on/ off buttom on the right saves being cluttered on the left, easiest thing to do is just activate it when you start up. 4 the brakes I found have bedded in nicely after 1000 mls and I like the fact that they will stop on a sixpence without being sports bike sharp. 5 not torquey ? are you kidding, it's got power and pull everywhere in every gear !!!

Last year I met up with a friend for a few days riding in the Pyrenees. He came on his 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro. He had owned it for about a year but was talking about trading it in. He had several issues with it, most to do with quality. When we met up later in the year the Triumph had gone and he had a new Ducati Multistrada. As he has had at least one Triumph in his garage for over 20 years I was surprised but he was really disappointed with the 1200 Tiger. He lost more in depreciation selling it after a year than my bike had cost.

I can’t imagine many things worse than using cruise control to control the speed on a big expensive motorcycle while blasting down European motorways. Why do KZfaqrs presume that all their viewers need to have big powerful bikes and stay on big fast and sometimes expensive roads to enjoy touring. Luckily a lot of us moved on from that idea years ago and tour on real world bikes on the sort of roads where motorcycling is still enjoyable. I almost laughed when you were explaining how you had to ride your Tracer through the corners and work the engine and gearbox whereas on the BMW you let it do it all. No doubt you like driving big powerful automatic cars on boring roads as well. Your idea of a good motorcycle is poles apart from my own.

Good to see you back! I have short legs, so I couldn't have anything that increased the 'seat height'. As a kind of 'Last hope, lets give it a go' I bought a sheepskin cover off Amazon for £20...It's done two tours in Spain and numerous tours in the UK. If someone said 'You can only keep one 'accessory' that would be the one for me.... I'm kind of surprised you've been working overseas if I'm honest, I thought 'the move' was to be more 'settled' ?

Hiya Wayne. Thanks for watching. I just knew that France would be easy and a great weekend trip. I also wanted to visit the Normandy beaches. With every trip i do...I give myself a max mileage range of 300 miles a day and then times that by how many days. That gives me a rough idea of route. I then just look at the map and see where I will end up. I then plan roughly where to stay. With France i knew I had to get to Calais by sunday😅
