I swear this show has an identity crisis. It's trying to be an "adult" and "mature" show by throwing "shit" and "asshole" here and you also get to see blood but the art style and even the animation is really tame like it's made for kids

Doc Martin is a British comedy about an autistic doctor (yes, this predates The Good Doctor, and isn’t problematic in the slightest. But what’s a whole other discussion) who cannot stand the sight of blood without vomiting. He always needs to look away when doing any kind of blood work, and his receptionist eventually has to do all the blood related work for him. There was also a slight arc where he tried to overcome it. Don’t recall if he ever did. Now imagine a show about a talented swordsman (or swoardswoman, honestly couldn’t care less about she gender) who has a huge phobia of blood and gore, where they actively avoid the fight, or make use of techniques where they try to harm their opponent as little as possible, just so they don’t throw up mid-fight. This could act as an active hindrance for the character, as they may not be able to go far enough to save the day, and potentially fail. Heck, maybe because of their own incompetence one of their party members has to take the hit, gets injured, and triggers the hero regardless. I gotta go write this story, I reckon I found gold!
