Ah ok. So if I wanted to produce my own seed then I could do that?
@zach9962Күн бұрын
In general you want to use heirloom varieties to save your own seeds. When you save hybrids the next generation will be all wonky. Same is true of chickens, actually. It’s because the next Gen many of the heterozygous traits are now homozygous. Could change the kernal color, size, density, etc
@zach9962Күн бұрын
Also don’t plant multiple varieties of corn together. When the corn is pollinated by another variety it affects the crop itself somehow. Or wait a month until you plant the next variety
@carrottop34542 күн бұрын
I’ve heard about detasseling corn. Is that something that needs to be done?
@douellette79602 күн бұрын
No that's only a special situation when a grower is producing hybrid varieties of corn for seed company. When producing corn to eat, tassels are kept so plant can self-pollinate.

I didn't understand what the brown water is..
@TheArtofSelfReliance10 күн бұрын
The darker brown liquid was water, sugar, and black tea. The lighter brown liquid is kombucha from the previous batch.

I’m going to do exploring nature with children and playful pioneers this year with my first grade daughter! The gentle classical nature is so great, I did that on its own as a preschool curriculum for my daughter. You’re right, it’s a lot!!

I’ve heard a lot of great things about the gentle and classical resources. Thanks for sharing. Are y’all a plantbased family? We are since 2018. Just subscribed. I also have a channel and it would be fun to be friends and connect. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I used a sweet potato from Thanksgiving. Put it in a shoebox half covered in forty, watered it one time and in March I cut a dozen slips off. They are doing very well

They're overused yes, but it is literally lifesaving technology in a hospital. Additionally when in the home they usually just filter allergens, helpful for seasonal allergies. If you genuinely think this is some sort of conspiracy, you need to take your schizophrenia medication.

I see a lot of bee keepers have the box's in direct sunlight. Is that not an issue for the bees? Figured some shade would benefit them.

You maybe surprised how resilient these plants are. As mentioned in the comments, when they turn purplish it is due to the cool temps. You may have noticed a little plant shock and a wilted look. But again they should snap back. I am anxious to get some winter squash going in the coming days.
@TheArtofSelfReliance2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the information. Good luck with your winter squash!
