Great videos. One question for you. I built my exposure unit the same way you have yours. I use chroma blue emulsion. What is the trick to exposing yellow mesh screens? I tried to expose them a few seconds longer and the image just washes out. How long do you expose your higher mesh counts? That will be my starting point .Any help would be appreciated.

Have you ever printed on vinyl fabric? Aka “marine vinyl”. I used that same Speedball acrylic ink to print on some 6”x9” vinyl pieces that will be sewn into lined zipper pouches. It printed excellent and did not scratch off, better than two other inks I tried, but to test its durability, I sprayed some isopropyl alcohol on it and it cleaned off. Same reaction to degreaser. Is that going to be the case with any waterbased ink? From research, everyone is saying that I should use Nazdar 4700, and you had mentioned using Nazdar in the past. Nazdar is too expensive for a hobbyist printing 20-40 bags for merch. But If isopropyl alcohol/degreaser kills the dried ink either way, then I might just continue with the Speedball as i think it will last as long as no one gets degreaser on it haha which i think will be rare/uncommon. Followed your channel, thank you for sharing.

Love the videos, definitely educational! Question, when i print, the ink is going through the shirt and onto the platen. Am i pressing it down to hard? Or am i using the wrong angle?

No when you print a lot it will go through the shirt onto the platen.

How much height do you put on your exposure unit? I keep 24” height but I can’t burn the screens fast like you, I spend around 1’40”sec to complete with one emulsion and 2’40” to another emulsion

I come back to give a feedback. This exposure unit is really good! I’m really satisfied with this project. One thing that I made different was: I’m using Saatitex PHU HR, I used to work with this emulsion. The exposure time was 100 second when I tested, I don’t know if distance of light causes that. Anyway, I really recommend this project.

I am not sure what you mean by red thing I am guessing your talking about the flattening screen to push the fibers down to make it a softer feel.

Just like what someone said, I also found you accidentally, and I'm glad I did. I'm starting off, like the newborn stage and looking forward to screen printing and digging it. I've made my first "prototype" shirt, wore it around town and people are already wanting it. Especially those from my church. I'm just doing a simple one color print....for now, until I grow up. Nevertheless, I'm digging all the information you've been providing. Seen a few videos from other shops, all good info out there. A lot of ins and outs, to learn but, I'm getting there. I've learned to say "who cares what others think" when it comes to equipment I'm using, if I need to get something from the dollar store, then get it. I'm not a full blown business, not even close...but I'm learning. I'm an old retired disabled vet and can only do so much at a time. So I spend most of my time learning from videos, like yours. Appreciate the heads up on a lot tips. I could definitely use the help so keep those videos coming, Brother.

Hello, I have prepared a unit consisting of 5050 smd 10 meters uv strip led, it consumes a total of 12 amps of power. Since it is 12 volts, it provides me approximately 144-180 watts of power. What do you think is the estimated time I need to expose with this unit?
