The worst things about the camera i guess is that its mad expensive

I'm thinking of getting this lens. Right now I'm using my newly purchased Voigtlander Super Wide Heliar 15mm f4.5 (Leica thread mount) on my Fuji X-T3, and I just thought how amazing it would be if they made a native Fuji X version of that. :D

You are the best portrait photographer I've seen on youtube so far. Your videos provide context leading up to the shot, and illustrates your thinking, which is invaluable for other photographers. And not to mention, the portraits you take are fucking stunning. You deserve a million more subscribers!!

Do you use manual mode? Over or underexpose when taking pictures? Any pp in Photoshop? Great video!

I had the 23 1.2 voigtlander and was able to get great results at 1.2. However, I agree if it had weather sealing and a more accurate scale it would be worth the cost. Lastly , I do appreciate that it has actual electronic contacts which the Chinese brands seldom do.

It's 2024. I love everything about my Canon 50E, it's my go to 35mm film camera, it's mint condition, I have the battery grip and eye focus and eye depth of field works faultlessly too. This camera is testimony to Canon's build qualty and the 50Es longevity. Sometime I wish the 50e was a digital body then it would more than awesome.

I have pretty much the same setup as you (28mm, 50 1.4, 85 1.8) and Iove it, but I am not getting nowhere near the same results as yours. How do you get such sharp focusing?

That 28mm f/1.8 is one of the most underrated lenses, it's the perfect point between a super wide 24mm and a 35mm.

never comment on vids, but just about to move on from b and w to colour and this was VERY helpful (and made me laugh a lot - cheers both!)

One of the greatest cameras of all time ! Still have mine and I still use it. I've had the MK1, the MK2, the MK3, and the MK4...used em and got rid of all of em... EXCEPT for the 5D Classic !

beautiful video! 5Dc has been my only camera for almost 10 years now, and i haven't shot at all for the last few. was trying to decide between 5D2/3 or go mirrorless canon / sony. and this video inspired me to get a mirrorless, for smaller/lighter weight, and keep trucking with the 5Dc, instead of getting a 5D2/3 and replacing it. main thing is i'm so rusty i want some quality of life, i'm purely manual focus lenses hahaha

I can see a big difference in look, but not many would know or care...its worth the extra in cost, but only to certain people. 1) people rich enough not to care. 2) people who don't already own the 7artisans or ttartisans 3) who just love Viogtlander and won't mind the cost. There are other lenses voigtlander makes that Ill buy first cause I have the 7artisan

Tom - I purchased a Mamiya 6x6 in search of a different perspective than 35mm or rectangular composition. After purchasing I watched a number of youtube videos on composing an image in this format, however this video really stuck with me. The insight provided by your call and response with other photographers, has influenced how I see things, especially when composing a shot or shooting in general. After 16 years, a still own and use my 5D. Over the years I have tried many cameras like canon 6D, Fuji xt1, Nikon D700 and Sony a7iii. None of them can get close to 5D in terms of sharpness and color reproduction. The sensor of this camera is magical! Of course I can’t use this camera for professional real estate work, but I am using it for travel and family photography.

This was such a beautiful video. The editing, great pictures, the music selection and all. But I’d particularly like to thank you (and people like you) for sharing intimate parts of your lives, inspiring us and showing what’s possible. The passion for capturing moments apparently can coexist with being present.

Lovely pictures 🙂 I also got an Artison and to me the Voigtlander looks a lot better, specially the unsharpness in the background is more beutiful. So the Voigtlander 23 1.2 has an autofocus or is it only manual?

Question: I'm really tempted to use my 5D classic for upcoming eventsweddings. I would like to take photos with a different style than I would have when shooting with my A7iii, not paying attention to the technology, the burst of shots, the super precise autofocus and other things. Yes, it might be crazy to shoot with the 5D instead of the A7iii, but the feeling I have shooting with the Classic is beyond. Even the look is really different in the photos. Knowing that to shoot weddings with the Classic I would have to get another one as a backup, in your opinion is it recommended to shoot with the 5Dc nowadays for weddings?

Amazing photos! I shoot with my Fuji GW690III and in this (5:32) light I have to close the aperture to 9-10 at a shutter speed of 500, How did you manage to achieve such a depth of field?

yes, I've got one. It's amazing. I paired it with 50mm F1.8 STM used of course. It takes very good photos and have that analog style. I shoot JPG internal on neutral.
