I absolutely love how Tom Glynn Carney plays Aegon. No matter what mood Aegon is in, you can see in his eyes the uncertainty, and insecurity Aegon has because of the way he was raised.

TBH they should have fleshed out his character more, as he is the one fighting Rhaynera for the throne and not his mother technically..........people want to take sides based on the character sitting on the throne, instead, they kept showing stupid whiny characters like Cole, or the bastard sons, etc they aint that important.

The show ruined his character , he never raped anyone, flew on Sunfyre circling the city but the show maker showed Rhaenys destroying the dragonpit and killing civilians which is so stupid.

The scene was stupid but the show wants to make a point that the Blacks are charismatic and sympathetic people, but also foreign invaders dwelling in neovalyrianism and giving a fuck about the smallfolk, while the Hightowers are shrewd and manipulative, generally unlikeable characters, but they are natives well accustomed to the traditions of the realm, care about the smallfolk and want to rule in peace keeping everything under control. Aegon and Aemond inherited only the bad qualities of both sides.

@@galahad1876 hell yeah making Daemon a wife killer& emotionally absent dad and Criston a dirty fighter who got beatup by Harwin while in reality he was the one who beat the shitoutta Harwin. And both are shown having a temper of some teenage boys. And seriously Daemon and Laena's relationship was portrayed so wrong, he genuinely loved her and flew from pentos to dragonstone to get the best Maester to save Laena's life and show made showed him not listening to Laena's wishes and screwing with Rhaenyra literally on the night of Laena's funeral. That's a different level of disrespect on Laena's character. They want Daemyra to overshadow any other relationship.

Fire and Blood is indeed written to be more green biased on some occasions but yes it is absolutely INSANE at how much the show tries to make the Blacks more sympathetic. Even when they DO create stuff that could make them seem even remotely apprehensible like Daemon killing his wife or how OBVIOUS they made Rhaenyra’s infidelity was in the show, it doesn’t matter because we spent more time watching Rhaenyra’s side of things thus the audience is more inclined to side with her and ignore her side’s wrongdoings I mean you can see it in the live reactions for the show that everyone cheers for Rhaneyra and they hate the Greens. Imo the show is still a good piece of television but its BIGGEST flaw is the fact that it does not feel like we’re watching a piece of media that should have us viewers going “hmm who do I root for” when they always make it clear you should be rooting for Rhaneyra

Aegon is literally so ethereal and beautiful like a medieval painting. His actor is really brilliant, despite of having so little screentime Tom just did such a great job that he was able to salvage it. From the writing team’s point of view, Aegon was just a plot device to make Aemond and Alicent look sympathetic. Tom was able to make a plot device feel like an actual character. One of the best actors of the series

6:11 pretty much sums up his arc. the Greens are deeply traumatized, unhappy, dysfunctional family... that's part of why I find them so much more interesting than the Blacks.
