Anyone know what model part number works in a '53 Dodge, positive ground, six cylinder, flathead ? And do I need another number for the magnetic goodie ? And do I replace the hard wire ignition wires with those type that look like black string ? And do I use a stock coil ? Whew !

I have no idea how any of these systems sound, because there are no close up exhaust sound bites. I wish yal would do a vid on sound. Jeep 4.0 sound specifically.

I have a small tractor with a 1 cyl gasoline engine. The tractor is a really good ol´ grinder, but I cant get engine parts (Westerbeke small engine named Universal Nr10, long time parked production, no documents to be had). Now my ignition´s breaker points had it and Bosch cant even find the part numbers,,, Bosch base plate zpt327z 332 with a secondary camshaft arrangement for the breaker called SIBA ZU8. The engine is still good as gold if I somehow can bring it a spark ! Do you have something tangible to help me out with ? Or a tip ? Any from anyone will do

Why is the y pipe listed for 00-02 4.7 Tundras when the JBA headers themselves are compatible with 00-04 models?

So you’re still using the distributor for spark and your just routing that spark through this limiter to supply/cut power?

Now made in Mexico, and absolute CRAP. Just unboxed a set and was so angry I about hit the ceiling. Mating surfaces aren't machined, primary tubes overhanging the flanges, welds look like bird droppings. Taking them back tomorrow.

@mikeee_e46062 жыл бұрын
Probably amazing. Every exhaust video I see doesn’t make much of a difference til they put uel headers and over/front pipe.
@ellisjackson3367 ай бұрын
It would sound LOUD probably. You get a noticeable difference in sound when you upgrade to an EL header too

Too bad when they don't fit properly you can't get any help from these people Total waste of 300 plus dollars and the three plus hours spent trying to install them. I even tried talking with technical support they asked for pictures and part numbers I gave it to them and then they asked if they were installed I said yes I attempted to and then they ghosted me. JUNK! Do yourself a favor, Buy some Gibson's And you won't have any issues!

i have a 1950 chevy with 235 6cyl its also been converted to 12 volt system ,,it has a ceramic ballast mounted on the firewall ,, now if i go to the electronic ignition and remove the breaker points ignition DO i unhook the wires from that ballast regulator or leave it hooked up ????? first time trying the pertronix
@DJChrisArgueta2 жыл бұрын
The ballast resistor will no longer be used because the upgraded ignition coil is internally resisted. I upgraded the ignition coil on ‘51 Chevy, too. I also have a 1962 truck 235 engine upgrade and 12V and alternator upgrade as well.

anyone out there interested this model will not physically fit inside nor will the holes line up on the distributor on my 34 chevy standard with delco dist. pertronix website shows "all 29-36 delco distributors" for both this model and the 91168ls. in the picture the 1168ls and 91168ls appear the same so im hesitant to buy the other version. suppose i'll call pertronix next week.
@Rob-hw5wr3 жыл бұрын
so how do you time it?
@hankfink Жыл бұрын
With a timing light and a vacuum gauge. I've had my pertronix (12v) for about 16 years now and while I do have a spare never needed it or have had any problems with it.

hello guys! I have a 1950 Chevy Coupe that I converted from 6 to 12 volts a few days ago. I replaced the points inside the distributor but would like to install this PerTronix Ignitor. The engine that the car has is the original engine 216, 6 inline 3 on the tree. The only modification the car has is the 12 volts conversion. Would this product work fine with my car? I wouldnt want to install the wrong parts. Thanks in advance.

Excellent tutorial and an excellent product. Maybe i can help clarify something that I'm asked a lot. The Pertronix 1168LS will fit the following: Chevy, 216, 235, 261 engines: GMC 228, 236, 248, 256, 270 and 302 engines (without Military distributor) The Pertronix 1168LS is a 12 volt, negative ground component, I believe Pertronix also has a 6 volt version. Be careful to read the fine print when purchasing because there are positive as well as negative ground versions in both 6 and 12 volt units, as I recall. I get my Pertronix kits on Summit Racing and they go into a lot of detail about which is which - and the part numbers are different for 6V, 12V and positive or negative ground. I've even bought Pertronix for my Hercules JXD engines ( Pertronix 1561 ) and if you've priced a set of points lately - they ain't cheap no more! Great video, thanks for posting!

How do I know if my distributor is positive or negative ground 🤔.. I wanna order the correct kit for my 51chevy 3100.thx bud✊🏽
@AlaskaTrucker2 жыл бұрын
@@OGSHAKER2020 If the vehicle, itself, is negative ground, or positive ground, then the distributor will follow suit. Some of the GMCs were positive ground during the 50's. Just check to see which battery post goes directly to the frame: Hope that helps!
@OGSHAKER20202 жыл бұрын
@@AlaskaTrucker heck yeah bud 👍 👌 🙌 👏 thx.. it is negative 51chevy 3100 ..also another glue I guess for me is theirs a ground wire coming off the neg. Terminal of coil to side of distributor.. so I kinda thought 🤔 that made it a negative ground as far as the distributor goes.. ..thx a mil.
