As of August 24th you no longer need a Subscription to play version 1.18 which is why you should start playing version 1.18.

Check out Headlocked Gaming. He provides links to download the game for Windows. It runs on low-end hardware. I play it on an old PC with 4GB of RAM, Intel HD graphics and also on a brand new Beelink SER5 with 16GB RAM, Ryzen 5, and AMD Radeon graphics.
