Add the BM-62 was imported by Berben in about 1980. 2000 BM-62’s. There is also a BM-69 that was imported by Benet in the late ‘60’s. No firm #’s on import numbers, but I’ve seen the number 350 mentioned a few times. I’ve never seen a live ad for one. They had a flash hider, and the gas tube was machined for a BM-59 bipod. Chrome followers on the BM magazines. Limited options on magazine pouches. Excellent rifle!

Thank you so much for this! I've just become a proud owner of a 1942 Mk4No1* SMLE and was rather confused by how exactly to remove the bolt. Much appreciated on the simplicity of explaining as well, again thank you!

Hoss....i have been looking for this explanation for quite a while today. I cant remember how who or where i acquired this monster but can admit it was the first of many military style of freedom sticks that i now have. Thanks for showing us how the bolt removal works on this particular 303. Only question i currently have is why was this manufactured differently than other or previous designs?? Regardless, I have and will continue to enjoy this little tool and better maintenance thanks to your video here. Semper Erectus and best of health...❤️🇺🇲☠️

The Springfield's bullet was originally a 218 grain black powder round, then lowered to 150 grain, then upped to 175 grain and again lowered to the 150 grain M2 round.

So national ordinance or Santa Fe is not safe to shoot because of cast-iron? Or just not authentic?

Nowadays- finding original Hk bipods is only done on eBay or other gun auction sites. Pretty much all Hk roller-lock accessories except mil-surplus stuff is nearly unobtainable.

I have a long branch mk4 no 1 star from 1945. Is that a common rifle or is this rare? I just started getting into olf historical firearms and dont know too much yet.

Thank you so much for this helpful video. My Lee Enfield T4 target rifle has a No.4 Mk.1* action and I too was confused as to the bolt removal procedure. NB. When operating the bolt, if you have the trigger depressed (clearly with a 'cleared' gun), it makes the whole job just that bit easier.

Good video! Couple things to take note for anyone seeing this that’s looking for one. Sometimes you will find M1Ds that don’t have any accessories with them. If you do, don’t automatically assume that it’s a fake. The CMP has sold several of those rifles that came into their possession with no accessories with them. I have an M1D myself and it has the CMP papers and the correct barrel number but it had no accessories with it. Speaking of the barrel number, there are 2 places that you will find it. All M1D barrels produced up until the fall of 1952 have the drawing number under the top handguard. Barrels produced after the fall of 1952 had the number moved to the section under the op rod along with the other markings. To my knowledge (forgive me if I’m wrong), all M1D barrels were made by Springfield between the years 1951 and 1953. Keep all this in mind as you look for them. Happy hunting and I wish you luck!

Extremely helpful. I recently purchased a No4 Mk1 and was trying to figure out how to take out the bolt for cleaning with no luck. I have No1 Mk3 and have no problem with the bolt. When you said * I took a closer look at the markers and sure enough, there was the * that I had overlooked. After watching the video, life got better.

Loved your video. Great to see someone who is obviously so knowledgeable, and comfortable handling his rifles. The only thing I would change, is I like to see the factory marks while you are talking about particular weapons. As you noted the barrel year, it would have been neat to see the marking; as well as the manufacturer's mark and serial on the receiver. But that's a small preference. Overall, a great video, thank you very much for making it!
