I tried installing the patches, but it says I need to install the first version of Vietcong which I thought I did with the VCstarterconfig. I do not own the disc, and I use windows 11. please help.

Some say Mac OS 7.5 was the most stable and popular Mac OS version to ever be produced before the Mac OS X era. I have just about every version of the Mac OS prior to Mac OS X. Oh man... I miss all of those little preference panel icons loading at the bottom of the screen on the startup page. Very cool!

"Pizza Box" Mac. I have one but mine is a Macintosh Quadra 610 DOS Compatible with a Motorola 68040 processor at a WHOPPING 25 Mhz! Seeing yours makes me want to unbox the old Quadra 610 and bring back some memories! I also have a PowerMac 7200/120. Not a "Pizza Box" but one of the second gen PowerMac "Beige Boxes" produced. Games from the Windows 3.1/95/98 era are some of the most difficult to play today. I had to install my version of Shadow Wars in DosBox, but DosBox wouldn't play it. I played it in Windows 10, but it didn't play correctly. I could see the enemy ships, but I couldn't see the station.

Why would you want to bring a 30 year old Mac back to life? It cannot run any modern software, right? Doom or Sim City can be played on many modern platforms, especially a cheap ultra-fast Windows PC.

So bought one of these to use in place of a PI as a PiKVM style device. Yes, this is an Allwinner H6. Yes out of box its got poor cooling. But it is a worthy device just has not as much flexibility as a pi. Over on the PiKVM discord one of the regulars has a script that will install the right pieces to use this as KVM device. All you need is a hdmi usb capture device (about $17 or less) and a HDMI cable, and a usb cable. The PiKVM retail packages are over $200 w/ a pi and the only feature this lacks hardware wise is the ATX physical ability to power off and reset the remote machine. These are great for the price though, if it fits your needs.

I mentioned it briefly In video but wanted to go more in detail but didn't want to drag out the video any more than it was.. short answer is works great for most games but some cause SDL errors when it's tries to emulate certain graphic elements but overall as you saw plays doom 2 (part 1 video) and marathon games great ! Ive played well over an hour without any crashes . But I can say the more complicated the higher the fail rate , anything heavy on 3D I've noticed but it's still very usable .

One suggestion that I might make about that front port on the Macintosh SE/30 is maybe mounting a USB floppy drive as the internal drive. since the Macintosh SE/30 had an internal floppy drive. but the question remains: Can it run Diablo?

I'm doing much the same but for an Apple IIe platinum from 1993. it's going to house a Raspberry Pi 4, with connections for Ethernet, USB, serial, Parallel, and HDMI. the only adapter I'll have to build is for the 5.25 floppy drives that use a DB15 serial connection. all's I'm doing is adapting them to use a DB9 connection more commonly found on PC's. I'm also considering VGA as well for connecting to TV's that have a VGA connection as well.

@@djdarien93 a bit of an update, I figured that the 5.25 floppy drives use a DB 19 connection (thanks apple), I'm also throwing in some thunderbolt, some more USB, for the OS of choice I'm going with Apple Pi OS, and finally for optical drives I'm going with Apples Super drives, along with 2 yes two USB floppy drives should I want to emulate an actual Apple II since that's what the IIgs did. to maintain compatibility I'm using an M0100 mouse to USB and a joystick to USB. (I swear Apple should have maintained compatibility.) For cooling I'm using two 5 volt cooler master fans that will sit underneath the keyboard. and for double the storage I'm throwing in a compact flash card and a gameport just for playing dos games using my Thrustmaster Topgun Joystick. and for the keyboard I decided to use the one I have on hand with built in USB (I think it's from a imac G5).
