Because they know that their numbers are totally impractical bold-faced lies. How can 100,000,000 women and girls per year be trafficked in a country whose entire population is less than 332,000,000, that would mean that nearly 1/3 of the females in America were being trafficked which would put a woman or girl on the corner of every street in this country every day of the week and any sane person knows that that is absolutely not reality. However, when faced with these bold-faced lies women are like, "We know that they're lying but let's roll with it!" because women totally love bold-faced lies and totally senseless drama. That's precisely why you've never heard one single woman complain about black men who are accused of human trafficking being sentenced to hundreds of years in prison while white people like Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell are only sentenced to 20 years in prison and white women who have been out recruiting for pimps (including the Epstein Girls, many of whom recruited each-other into Epstein's international operation) are sentenced to Therapy, while black girls who have done exactly the same things are paraded through the media as ghetto pariah as opposed to being hailed as feminist heroine and showered with hundreds of millions of dollars in praises and prizes. Since we don't really have a proper educational system in North America, people don't immediately recognize that such judicial inequities are in-fact Apartheid Sentencing.

They have already bored a hole in the mountain between the imperial valley and San Diego to transport fresh water. They could drill another one for this battery storage idea. Another advantage is you effectively reduce the high salinity of the Salton Sea while improving air quality of the imperial valley by covering the entire dry lake bed.
