Very helpful discussion & ideas. Shops afraid to touch this one. Too many variables. Replacing throttle body first step. Seems to not have worked but one problem may be solved. On to the next part. $50 ebay throttle body. Not bad.

Both my Chevy trailblazer and jeep compass trailhawk have cut-outs allowing access to the oil drain plug and filter. So disappointed in Ford lately. This is just another example of poor engineering.

I recently went to a pepboys to have new tires put on my bmw. They were so packed with work which was mainly putting tires on vehicles since they were aligned with tire rack etc. that they rushed to do the inspection and forgot to put the cover back on my engine bay and got grease on my paint. They simply were pushed and pushed to do so much work in such a little amount of time it made me not want to ever return.
@Isabella_Pig25 күн бұрын
Hey, someone who works at one of these places. We don't do a full inspection but there is still a lot of stuff they want us to look at. As well as doing the paperwork and the actual oil change. Cooperate wants us to do that all in 15 minutes. The rush usually comes from management. I'm lucky enough to work at one where they rather I be thorough than quick.

In most cases I blame the business. Proper training is crucial. Teaching integrity to employees is crucial. Monitoring is crucial. And firing those who don't care is crucial. You run your business well and you wind up with a happy customer every time. One of the reasons I do my own oil changes is because I know it's been done right. One time I went to an independent shop while out of town, and they actually let me do most of the work myself. They were awesome and I paid them extra. As meticulous as I am, one time I changed the oil in my wife's car and I actually forgot to pour in the new oil. Yup, I did it. I started the engine and watched to make sure there was oil pressure and it looked good. Then I closed the door and saw no oil pressure! I immediately cut the engine and discovered my mistake and added oil. If there was someone else present I would have asked them to kick me in the ass, I was so mad at myself. And I was mad at Toyota too. With the engine running and the door open, the damn computer decided to warn about the open door. Once the door was closed, that's when it decided to report no oil pressure. Really??! Turns out that car didn't have a traditional oil pressure light, it had a text display controlled by the computer. Grrr!

For the most part they are warm body companies. They go through employees like crazy. Teaching integrity to someone making eight dollars an hour good luck.

We were taking fleet vehicles to one to limit downtime. We got told after a while to stop doing that. On my vehicle, they tried to look at the diff fluid and then said, "We can't get the plug out". A year and a bit later they claimed that someone broke the plug, who taouched it before them. I've driven the work vehicle since new.. It was them. I also knew a few people that worked there and they wouuld tell me stories of them using the good oil out of the containers for their own cars and put regular oil in them. Stripped oil pan plugs was a regular story. No oil filter gaskets causing leaks. Double oil filter gaskets causing leaks. No oil in engine at all. The bogus "injector cleaner" that only dripped cleaner into the runners via a vacuum port. Wrong wipers. Saying they changed air filters when they didn't. I drive a euro luxury sedan. I don't need a bill for a new $16k+ engine.

Hey man. I bought an 04 awd rendevous w/3.4l. Doing bunch of work on it. About to wrap up doing the head gaskets. If that goes good, i plan to address the AWD system. Did you have issues with yours if you remember? Any fixes? Would bad speed sensors or wiring cause it to disable? Enjoying your videos & i can relate how you got to here.

I had the same issue on my 1999 Corolla. At first I thought it was the belt tensioner since it had some issues but it ended up being the power steering pump pulley. I probably would’ve changed the pump if I hadn’t seen this video first.

Old video but I am still going to comment as some people are considering this vehicle used. First of all, why is it people always think we need music playing in the back round? Gets on my nerves. For me I do not want a turbo just something else to go wrong that I do not need. And I am for smaller wheels as the bigger the tire the more expensive they are to replace.

Is the recycling door actuator the same part number? I just replaced the hard one behind the steering wheel, but now I realize the sound is coming more from the passenger side 😂
@MichaelAdamsRocksАй бұрын
The recycling door is right behind the glove box. I did a video on that one as well a couple of years ago. I can’t remember if it’s the same part number, but they look similar.
@brandonshealyАй бұрын
@@MichaelAdamsRocks Thanks so much. Thank you. I was able to figure it out yesterday 👍🏼. The one behind the glovebox looked the same, so I wasn't sure. It was a different part, though. The ones behind the dash has 2 pins in the connector.
