April 17th, 2009! Like 5 after days after 10th birthday! Where does the time go?! Miss you Michael so much!

I was just perusing some per-instrument tracks for Assassin and only just now, after 15 years of listening to Muse, realized that these high notes in the intro/etc are played on the bass. I had no idea this whole time! So I popped on youtube to see how exactly this was played and here we are. Nicely done!

you COULD read it as 12/8, but where’s the fun in that?

In so many pop songs the bass is an afterthought to the primary melodic part. In many Muse songs the bass IS the primary melodic part. 😎

I think you're the first bassist I've seen cover this song that actually plays the verse part correctly (going back to the 9th & 7th fret every other phrase, instead of staying on the 10th & 9th fret the entire time). Nicely done! Also, that ending "chorus" before the bridge has always been a b!+<# for me to count correctly, so seeing you map it out like this is awesome! Thank you!

I’m aware this was posted 8 years ago, but for the sake of accuracy and posterity I wanted to point out that his Manta Bass Filter is in Extended Mode. Which is why the Effect Selector knob has two lights whenever he rotates it. In Normal Mode, that would be a Peak Filter, but in Extended it’s a Band-Pass Filter
