The sound was great. Love the onange and Blue TomToc sling. I'd be curious to see if sling bags from Temu were like. I just got a mini messenger bag from them and it's great quality and thick canvas.

So I could’ve sworn I made a comment. Don’t know what happened to it. Thanks for putting it out. The list is better than I expected. It’s funny, we have a lot of the same stuff on our list. Despite how hard it is to get sometimes I will vouch for the garage built gear Mighty pouch is my favorite pouch right now.

I will look into the garage built stuff some more. He has some larger pouches that look incredible. I went with the AGP because it was different than most, and the drop I got mine on sold out in less than 2 minutes, crazy how fast that stuff moves. I don’t mind paying more for different and quality.

@@xavier7566 2nd trip for the first reel I purchased and there is not a lot of adjustment on the drag, which isn’t all that unusual on a BC but less adjustment then my Lews crush. I did have the line get off the spool and wrap around causing a mess. I looked for a side plate release and couldn’t find one and made a bigger line mess. Finally found there is no release switch just held by magnets. Good to know for future. So basically it’s a smooth reel for now that catches fish, but the tolerances are a little loose on it. For around 15 bucks a good reel, not replacing my better stuff though. Don’t hate them though.

I liked listening to your perspective. I'm always trying to find the best intersection between use and dollar amount, and I try to identify a use before I buy most things. I don't know if you have already but have you done a video on the chart? I'm wondering what's on there in the entire video.

The fun but tough thing is trying to figure out what products you need to spend more on to get something usable, adjustable wrench comes to mind, and what is trendy. For fishing I have this figured out, it’s the pouches, knives, and slings where I am learning. I will do a video soon on the chart, and then how I cut it down to my gift idea list so I can do some more content. Glad you liked the video, it was a fun one to do.

I will do that. First I need to figure out if D2 blade steel fits my needs or do I need a better steel. Also try to figure out if brands like Civivi are legit or if they are just good at generating KZfaq hype. I have carried pocket knives all my life, but I never dug into the topic. Just figured that a Buck knife was decent enough.

Thanks for the feedback and watching. I realize what is happening, as I went from behind the phone to in front of the phone now, I am further from the microphone. I will work either on speaking up or figuring out a microphone to help out.

You make a lot of valid points. The price of EDC gear has gone through the roof. The knife makers have definitely lost their minds charging over $200 usd for D2 steel blades. I'd like to see what budget knives you have. I enjoyed your Temu haul video. I like looking at options and budget options certainly have their place in EDC.

I do have two Ozark Trail knife videos, and in the most recent one the Gordon knife is in there as well. One nice thing about the two Gordon knives is when I close them the blade tip on both is dead center in the frame. My older and more expensive Kershaw isn’t close to centered. Thanks for watching

Unfortunately most if not of us. Even places that assemble products will source parts from overseas. With the global economy, companies didn’t waste time shipping the work overseas or South. My last two trucks were built in the US, assumed the third would be, nope Mexico. I don’t think the last few years with supply chain issues taught companies anything either.

I have been using the Goody Kids part number 09427 and Scunci part number 33815 and those have worked well for me and both seem to be the same size. If I need something smaller I have used the ponytail rubber bands, similar to the ones used with braces, but double those up and hold the two together with a small zip tie. If you happen to fish those small rubber bands work great to hold treble hooks together when storing crank baits so that you can remove them easily from a box. Also check out the earthlingedc channel for more ideas for hold downs. Thanks for watching.

One thing I’m recently adding is a “dump pouch”. It can be MOLLE attached & serves for trash, awkward items, supplies, or the extra tools we inevitably take or need (hammer, cordless screwdriver, etc). It can also be attached to a belt.

@@cgolf100Ou, I am sure I will figure something out :) ... It is only that one, very specific setup, I had in mind won't work. The thin long most left channel was meant for a pry bar that is a perfect length but 20mm wide and judging from your measurements, that won't fit. Anyway - thanks for your detailed measurements.

I got one thru Amazon this week and going to send it back. I paid $10 and I agree about that spring being a likely failure point. Plus it doesn't make the blade deployment feel good. It so clunky, I sometimes need both hands to hold it and deploy it. You have to jerk it around a little in the track with that spring to get it to slide out. I really wanted to like it, but not for $10.

You may want to look at the Hart from Walmart. The 2 pack is under 9 dollars and it locks in 2 open positions. Only real complaint with it was the blade release button was hard to press, but minor inconvenience on a feature not used often. Thanks for watching.

Nice find @ an outlet mall! (Canada?) Looks like you’re a “righty” w/ right shoulder damage. Suggestions: -“Reverse” the pocket clip, (tip up) vs how it came. Now use your pinky & next 2 fingers “to hold” the body/handle when you push the button to deploy. -Maybe use a T-8 torx on the pivot just a tiny bit to free it up, if it’s not breaking in. Hope this helps. Keep on making vids! Fastback is still my go to, Ryobi is a great backup. (from the gentleman who had a hard time finding info about this utility knife ; )

@cgolf100

I carry it in my backpack or sling bag I take to work. This one is a little too wide when loaded out. Viperade and other brands have thinner ones that would fit in a pocket. Just nice to have gear organized so I don’t need to dig through a pocket in my backpack. I have a couple of videos with thinner options that are pocket carry friendly.

how would you compare to the maxpedition series?
@cgolf100
@cgolf100 5 ай бұрын
Good question. I currently only have one Maxpedition pouch, Fatty, but just got it and haven't packed it out yet. It does have the same layout as the all good pouch but is much larger. As for quality, both seem well made, I do like the small amount of padding in the all good pouch and the zippered pocket on the inside, don't believe the smaller Maxpedition pouches have that option. I have a few viperade pouches that I like, but I would say the all good pouch is better quality, but not sure it is double the price better. This pouch fit a need for me, and I might buy another. What I have seen from viperade and the Maxpedition pouch, I have no issue buying those either. I probably didn't answer your question well, but since I generally lean toward budget friendly gear it is difficult for me to say it is that much better.

I will definitely give it a go and thanks for the tip. It is easy to do with the layout I have. I should also create a larger surface to film on. I am on top of a speaker with a desk lamp over top to limit shadows, but the speakers size forces me to zoom in making the issue worse for you all. If I get into this a lot more, enjoying it so far, I will figure out how to setup the DSLR so that it will focus on items properly and create a little area in the basement to film in.

@cgolf100
@cgolf100 6 ай бұрын
So I always carry a bunch of stuff to work that would either go in a pocket of my backpack or a small bag(s) that would go into the pocket. That essentially became a junk drawer and you had to dig through the pocket to find what you wanted and some stuff gets scratched. The pouches organize the gear to make it easier to grab and also protects it as well. So essentially it is a backpack organizer for my uses. Some of the bigger pouches can be used as a tool pack so there are many uses.
