Excellent .... thank you! I have the same model. For some reason out of the blue, my garage door (sometimes), only goes up part way and stops. When it's stopping, I can help it go up all the way with a slight push from the bottom. I'm thinking it must have something to do with the force setting adjustment but not sure why it'd start doing this at random.

Open the unit like I did in the video and check through gear. It can still spin when it’s cracked or broken but won’t be able to connect to rotate the sprocket ⚙️.

I have the same model. I’ve set the limits both up and down. And the sensors both have lights. When I press the clicker it opens fine. When I press it again to close nothing happens. No flashing lights, no movement at all. Only way to close is to go to wall unit and hold the button til closes. Any ideas? I’ve tried everything. No binding either 🤷🏼♂️

Sounds like it could be one of the following: A bad rpm sensor or a bad logic board , or a bad capacitor. The back of the unit should have a small light that blinks a number of times. Count the blinks and that will tell you the reason for failure if you search the model info and manual. You can check the capacitor which looks like a small battery with connections to it. If it’s corroded or leaking that could be the problem. ****Don’t touch it unless the unit is unplugged*** The rpm sensor and logic board could fail without any obvious sign. Last option you can call genie customer support who is awesome at runnng a live troubleshoot on the phone. 1800-843-4084 Let me know if any of this helped out.

My garage door doesn’t close all the way, i tried adjust the down force which is at the max. Could the limit switch be faulty?

That made no sense; the trolley was moving it just wasn;t connected to the bracket.

Yea I didn’t , it’s about 3 months until it needs to be charged. You have to unscrew the bottom security screw and take the unit off the wall to recharge it completely.

Gud job. BUT for commercial or condominium garages, you don’t have access to the motor. I understand on this remote if you repeatedly push the open button eventually it will correspond to the model and open the door. Mine was 11 clicks.

Great how to video, one time saver is at the 4 min mark (motor end block removal). Instead of dissembling the block from the screw drive, you can lift the screw drive out of guide tracks and slide the screw drive forward to then place the new carriage on, then slide the screw drive and end block back. I am awaiting the new carriage to install and will confirm if this can be done. Thx again for a very good how to on this product.

The strut is the best option available. Once that becomes compromised , I would recommend replacing the panel at that point.

Its just kinda hard to get the tabs to slide back into groves.....plus if you don't get into slots 100% you risk the chance of bending the little washer and then you will never get back into a reload position

I know what you mean, in my case I carry extras bc of my work but in most instances I would say to reuse the one you have and order a new one to replace from chamberlain/ Liftmaster.

If you need to replace the belt and the tension spring need to be reloaded meaning to put the tension back into the spring how do you do that.

Just reuse the tension spring as it is and tighten it back up and it should be good to go.

Great video. That black block at 4mins, you dont have to take off, just rotate it 90 degrees and push forward as much as you need, once the carriage is in place on the other end, just rotate the block back to its normal spot :)

What if the trolley is stuck at the front of the rail?

Go to the front of the rail and release the nut from the shaft completely so that the chain or belt is hanging then pull the trolley back off of the bolt if it’s stuck. If it won’t move , you may need to lightly tap it with a hammer to release it. Once you do that then you can set it back where you the limits are set. Do you see any issues with installing this on aluminum siding/aluminum garage door frame? Just using the supplied screws. If no issues, should I have pilot holes with a small bit or would these self tap into aluminum? (if aluminum can be installed into)

You can install it on aluminum framing but they won’t self tap, you will need to use a small bit to create that entry for the supplied screws. I’ve done it before and it secures just fine.

I can't find the close screw! when i have it open i see the one screw in the open slot which looks good but i see the other screw above right above the open slot! any ideas? When i set the limit and stop it where i want the door to close i don't see any screw in the left slot. This is after my chain came off and i put it back on. any ideas?

This really didn't help because I need to connect this to my garage door opener. As of right now it's a brick camera. That's all it can do. It will not connect to my genie garage door

I have a pea soup green Allister type II. Do you recommend an aftermarket remote for it?

Open the unit and inside you’ll find there’s a dip switch panel. You can use a “ Liftmaster 365LM” receiver which you wire into the red and white terminals of the unit. Once you do that, you can now program Liftmaster / chamberlain universal remotes to the receiver and it should function but with the age of the unit , expected failures should be expected however I’ve installed three of these 365 LMs and only had 1 with constant failures. Hope that helps
