I spent so much time building up that by the time I acquired high cost cards and both high counsel and swordmaster, one other player had already reached way more victory points than me. The base game doesn't allow you to deckbuild much and go in depth before others win the game, so you're essentially playing with basic cards plus some other cheaper cards you happened to acquire for you to win the game. Also, intrigue cards can be hit and miss. One game I acquired alot of intrigue cards but they were mostly endgame cards that required certain conditions to be met. Meanwhile, other players are getting plot and tactician cards that win the victory points and here I am unable to meet the conditions because of losing battles most of the time.

Great video! One of my favorite combos(that I consider almost overpowered), is the Courthouse + Judge + Crane combo. One game I played, I had the Courthouse and Judge, which allowed me to play the Crane for a berry instead of a pebble(due to the Judge’s ability). I then got a pebble for playing the Crane due to the Courthouse’s ability. I then used the 3 resource discount from the Crane to play the University, giving me ANOTHER pebble from the Courthouse’s ability again. So the Courthouse/Judge/Crane combo allowed me to essentially convert one berry into a University + 2 pebbles. Needless to say I won that game.

Didn’t know the supply drop also healed units, always thought it just replenished their supplies. That’s very useful.

the problem with the game is that you can't win without a heavy focus on combat, focusing intrigue or influence will lead nowhere and if you are late to the swordmaster game you might as well forfeit

Nice play through. A good victory with hardly any intrigue cards. I’ve always thought the Earl a bit underpowered. I agree it’s an excellent digital version of the game, I’d be keen to have Rise of Ix is added as well in the near future.

First move against the cats keep is definitely not recommended against human players. You ruin their game and make an enemy for at least the rest of the game

Thanks. My partner and I played our first game last weekend. I played Paul, she played the beast. I think I got the hang of the battle loops first whereas I think she did better with the alliances and intrigue cards first. She picked up Gurney, The Kwisatz Haderach, and worm riders whereas I picked up Chiani, worm riders, and spice must flow. I led for most of the game but we both finished with nine victory points and she had a card that meant she won on spice. It was fun.

Great job man! Real nice and clear explanations, my group just picked it up a few months ago. A great unique experience I’m loving it.

Do the decks have to stay at 40 when I go to rebuild them?

Just to clarify, when Peni is on her "Pilot" side, she is also an INTERFACE upgrade, so you actually have FIVE interfaces you can use as resources once you're fully built.

How about the big money strategy from dominion? Can it be used here? Essentialy you buy cards that give you lots of persuation and at some point you buy like 4 or 5 spice must flow cards.

One thing to note about "Forcefield Generator" is that it is a "Forced Interrupt" and stops ALL damage from an attack (up to 6) so there are times you will have to use it and you won't get a Toon Counter. Granted if the attack is >6 or if you don't have all the energy counters you could get a Toon Counter but be aware you don't get to choose how many energy counters to remove (unlike "Energy Barrier" which is just an "Interrupt" and you CAN choose when to use it.

I'm all in with this set!! You've given me my first two decks to go challenge others with, maybe surprise/crush someone lol I hope!!

I agree with the previous commenter, this is the next level analysis and recommendations and very very helpful ! Other videos I’ve seen seem too basic to be useful even to this new Everdell player!

I just won my first game as RC by hunkering down on top of a single trading post while collecting dividends from a sizable stack of funds. Then when the other factions were about to storm the castle after two turns of this, I moved off the clearing, spent their soldiers and some of mine on establishing bunch of trading posts and sniped a couple of buildings to jump to 30. To be fair they probably paid me way too much for early cards, but Lizards had the cash and wanted to ramp quickly.

Your "blended" Emperor/Bene Gesserit approach should work well with Duke Leto; solari generation to get all the stuff from the Landsraad council, especially the deep discount on the Mentat.

My playgroup have found the exact opposite to be true, that is, baroness is by far the worst leader. All the other leaders were consistently getting 80 or 90+ plus points, while baroness was having a hard time breaking 70. Her weakness seems to be in her inability to get arrowheads. Arrowheads are very difficult to get with items alone, and you need a lot of them to make it to the top of the research track, and to defeat guardians. She also frequently suffers from a fat inefficient deck since you’re tempted to use special delivery so much, you end up with a bunch of items late game that only really helped you in the early game

Love the tips. Been playing the game for a while now and never thought to play an intrigue centric game like that with emp/bg. Definitely gonna give it a try next time I play. Thanks for the vid!
