Still one of my favorite cars ever produced. Beautiful and timeless.

Fantastic video... I have a gorgeous '72 144 automatic in #109 ocean green. It was originally an Edinburgh car but it's been registered in Ireland since 2000. I see you have the obligatory BW35 oil stain where you park... I have one on my garage floor too. I wish mine still had white wall tires... They do look great with them.

Lovely car. I'm envious. Great car history, almost as daft here; everything I've learned/researched goes out of the window when in the presence of something I like...

Great cars. Bit heavy on gas and the nerves on the motorways these days. I'm conflicted because I love them but having owned several and getting something more modern ( V70 '99) I'm not sure. The kids loved the 240 GLT we had and that's the one they all hanker after now they're grown up. Deffo a practical classic simply because they're so well built and easy to work on. Great vid cheers mate.

We loved our 74 164E with manual and o/d. That car could move for its day. I don't believe the engine was as durable as the 144 but served us well. Ate up the long distance miles❤.

My grandfather had the 140 in the orange. It was very vibrant to say the least. Then he ended up with a green 244DL in '76 which I happily inherited many years later. I still want to find another one.

The last good Volvo. But unfortunately Volvo design suffers since 70s from degenerative "improvements". This one inherited a lot of quality from 60s. So, these car really worthy to ride on it to grocery even today!😊

I had this exact model and color in the late 80s, it wasn't a hotrod but it was a great, reliable car. After a body and paint job, I had notes left on it often from folks wanting to buy it. Some one finally offered me a ridiculous amount and I let it go. Regrets.

Back in the day I had a 142E in the same color. Loved that car. Beautiful!

Cool car! I had forgotten that Volvos (Volvoes??) ever looked like that; the black plastic grille with the chrome surround must have only been used for a couple of years. The carburetor and air cleaner look like something from the 1930s. Best of luck with it. PS: Did you ever have to feed 2 parking meters for the Caprice wagon? It must have cost somebody a mint to bring it over there and adapt it to UK regulations.

This is a lovely car and a great video. Did this chap fabricate his own mirrors? I have a 70s bug and I’d love a set of round ones. 😊

Good to see this old Volvo from the early seventies. My Mother had one (DLY 982J) and we were royally driven to school in it. On the day my sister was born, she was driven home in it, and some years later learned to drive in it!

The build quality on these were better than the 200. The engines were dead simple to work on, galvanized floor pans inner wings . And good thickness metal. Not saying later cars were bad these were good. I worked on a few. My dad had the 145 deluxe estate.

Well done that man. It the film it looks quite remarkable, lucky you. You have a lovely car and cherish it for what it is - A SURVIVOR! Yesterday I saw the very same model car here in Sydney in white. It looked lovely in the traffic.

Looks stunning, well done. I'm about to take delivery of a 67 Mk.1 GT in Sandy Beige, I owned 40 years ago! I found it 4 sale by chance online and its coming home. It's been very well looked after and was pretty unique when i had it all those years ago. The first owner had made many improvements to the creature comforts in the car, which looked period - better than what MG subsequently did, he was clearly very talented. For example he ditched the Smiths heater etc and designed his own heater/fresh air system with small eye ball vents at each end of the dash.
