I watched all of the videos you posted making this snare drum, amazing work! I hope you will continue making videos crafting the rest of the drum kit. I 'm hooked and wish there were more videos to watch. Keep up the awesome work!

@@Curts_C10 - The point being is to get out. He keeps going to the high edge to try and get out. About a year ago, a youtuber lost both his dogs when a guy working on the pool left the gate open. Dogs are like kids and can be sneaky. They need it engrained in their heads what to do if they are in, and know how to get out. I'm just thinking of the safety of your pets. 😃

I'm about to do a 2.5 inch lift on my 82 CJ5, and I'm shopping for boomerang greasable shackles. Are you happy with the 1/2 inch shackle lift, or would you go to 3/4 or something?

I like the 1/2” lift greaseable shackles. I had taller ones on before, but it adversely affected steering stability.

Thanks MoJo! I really enjoy the process! Handcrafting snare drums for people (for a living!) goes down as one of the best periods in my life, for sure. Getting the feedback and ecstatic responses from fellow drummers really was the prize of the art. Glad to be making a snare for myself this time, to play! More coming when I build my personal drum set of African Mahogany. Stay tuned!!

I’d do 33x10.50 especially since it has widetrac axles. I have 33x12.50 and don’t like how far they stick out. 12.50 width looks better with 35 and bigger in my opinion.

Did the fuel gauge on the dash work after swapping tanks and sending units? My '84 CJ7 has the 20 gal tank too and when it gets to about a half tank on the gauge it's about empty. I've also been trying to decide b/wn Holley and Howell.
@Curts_C106 ай бұрын
Yes, my fuel gauge still worked and seems to be more accurate, although not perfect. The Holley Sniper made a huge difference in performance.

Brand of clock and tach ? And have they held up ? I know this is old but you can get a dash from double d fabrications. He can make the dash anyway you want. But also sales a stock Laredo dash. If you want those grills back over the speakers

I could be wrong but I believe the stock distributor for that year is a Hall effect distributor. The computer that control the BBD carb also controlled the distributor to adjust timing. Hence the need for the “Nutter bypass”. This removes the computers control of the distributor and timing. Don’t know how or if the sniper can be connected to the factory distributor though. Not real familiar with the Snipper or Howell fuel injection systems. Unfortunately they are out of my price range.
@Curts_C1010 ай бұрын
I connected the Holley Sniper to the stock coil on negative side, just for RPM’s. So far things are working well! Much improvement over stock carb!!
@we77310 ай бұрын
I’m sure fuel injection is always going to better than a carb. I went with a Motorcraft 2100 I tried the Weber but for some reason I wasn’t able to get it to run right on my 83 cj7. Would love to have fuel injection but the fact that my jeep is a toy not a DD. The $1700-2500 price tag for fuel injection is a hard sell to the wife.

@@we773 I bought mine as a base kit for $900 on sale. Then a while later got a new tank & internal fuel pump kit. It was a little easier on the pocket book to separate it out, as I do most things, so it not such a shocker 😂
@we77310 ай бұрын
$900 on sale that’s a good price. Have seen that around here in Texas. I’m in $200-250 for the 2100 carb, rebuild kit, mounting plate, a true manual choke conversion kit and all the finishing bits. Runs good enough for my needs.
@Curts_C1010 ай бұрын
@@we773 yes, carb and choke set up is quite a bit less expensive. I’d always been curious about the EFI for these Jeeps, for many years actually. This one had major cold starting issues, and I knew I wanted to do some moderate off-reading… now that I’ve made the switch, I’m glad I did.
