I've been looking at this company called Metamaterials, they're from Canada. They found a way to prevent thermal runaway They did some tests where they shoved a nail through a pouch cell and also shot one with a bullet to prove it wouldn't explode! Maybe your department can put pressure on Government and manufacturers to adopt the technology

It looks like some sensors are in alarm after the initial failure. Curious what those sensors are monitoring that were tripped by the battery failure.

Those are meters used to detect various gases. The alert means they’ve detected combustible gases - another hazard of Li-ion battery failure.

Do you even have any clue or concept as to know what this video was for. We set it up to fail specifically so that we could video the destructive force behind fully charged partially charged Lithium-ion batteries. We also we're testing different abuses to make them go into failure as well as wanting to sample the gases that were coming off.
