Mike Tyson was just a shell of himself, 1987 Tyson would have blown away this plodding and slow opponent in under 2 mins. This was bodybuilder Mike and he lost his speed, range of motion, head movements and even power.

“Smarter businessmen than me have been tricked out of their money”. How right he was! Tyson was no match for Don King’s manipulation. He got Tyson - hook, line & sinker. Mike had no clue.

how did he get so big without lifting weights? i feel like if regular people did his workouts they wouldn't get so big unless they wore a weighted suit of some kind

1985-88 I would put Mike against any heavyweight that ever existed Tyson hands down that head movement hand speed and brut strength and not to mention heart of a lion
@adamdesanti671313 күн бұрын
'85-'88 Mike. The closest I think we got to peak Tyson, blending some ring experience with mental toughness, youthful vigour, desire and physical maturity. His training up to the Frazier, Berbick and Spinks fights. That's the guy I would put in the ring with anyone, any era. The speed and movement of a middle-weight in that pitbull body. Like Cus said "if he stays committed and dedicated and free from distraction, he'll go down as the greatest we've ever had." Mike should have been the G.O.A.T. for sure, but it's hard. He was of college age when he became Heavyweight Champion of the World and the world is at your feet.

Man, it’s just so heartbreaking for him to be manipulated and fall into the greedy hands. Things just went downhill from there. He needed that guidance and genuine care from Cus and Camille and Kevin. I wish Cus was just there to show Tyson the way… What a legend!❤❤

This fight would not have been the same as their 96 fight. Holyfield was 205- 208 in 92. He came in at 218 in 1996. That extra weight made a big difference and helped him move Tyson backwards when they clinched. It also made a big difference in his ability to trade with Tyson. Mike Tyson was on the decline in 92, but still much sharper and faster than he was in 96 after a prison term. Tyson had a style that favored younger guys due to the insane amount of movement and training required to use it effectively and for several rounds into the fight. This would have been a completely different fight than either of the ones that we witnessed in the mid 90’s. These were 2 completely different fighters than the ones that fought in 96. We really were robbed of a great fight with this one.

This was his ultimate peak. Who would have thought that just 3 fights later he would be knocked out by Buster Douglas.
