Hi. I also have a 68. Love the car lifts you have. Can you tell me a little more about them? Nice
@210RION15 күн бұрын
@@hovlandbound they’re called “Quick Jacks”. They’re perfect for someone who works on cars pretty often, especially if you don’t have the ceiling height to have a two post lift. They’re pretty heavy and a little pricey but you could probably find a good pair on Facebook Marketplace depending on where you’re located. They also provide enough space to where you can do exhaust work or dropping a transmission.

Your doin a great job….honestly you can paint it in your garage…the nova next to my name was the first car i ever painted…i too did it in my garage all by myself….i researched paint videos for weeks, hours at a time until i said…i can do this, it only paint!!! Since then i painted my c10, cls550, and mother inlaws honda…each paintjob getting progressively better than the last….i too also have a mustang project that im building with my son, its very similar to yours but its a ‘67….we already put efi on the old 289 and are in the process of building a built roller cam 5.0 motor out of a late 90’s explorer to replace the tired 289!!… i might have a video on the mustang or paint for the c10/ nova on my page….either way your doing a great job on that old mustang and at the end of the day it all takes time and youll get there!!!

You got yourself a real project there. Get it done right and you can be very proud of youself. I live in Southern California and in 1977 my senior year of high school I bought a 68 Mustang from the original owners. It was in near new condition. 289, automatic, power steering, MANUAL drum brakes! Factory AC, has the optional turn signal indicators in the hood. Light blue, white vinyl top, 2 tone blue interior. Completely unmolested car, Completely stock. Ive taken excellent care of it now for 47 years. Geez those years went fast! About 10 years ago i decided to have the interior completely redone in correct colors and fabrics including headliner, dash pad and new instrument bezel. All the interior metal was also repainted. All new weather stripping was installed too. The original interior wasnt really bad, but time had aged it, despite good care. Wow, when i finally got it back from the upholstery shop, it looked absolutely brand new. I take it to car shows, use it for occasional erands. I'll never sell it, though i do get offers to sell. 3 years ago at a car show i had a fellow who went crazy over it wanting to buy. His final offer was 22.000. I kept telling the dude it wasn't for sale. But some people think everyone has their price!! He was not happy and surprised i refused to sell. California Mustang has everything for these cars. They ship everywhere. You can call and get a catalog, or look them up online. They also carry some mechanical parts. I'm definitely going to follow you here! What state is this in? Wishing you good luck!

There is a couple different styles that you can put on or you can leave them off. If you are interested just google side scoops for 68 mustang

To take the side scoops off you have to take the inside panel off for the rear window. Then you can access the nuts to take them off

What an Epic find!! Good on you. Just 1 thing please!! Keep it as a coupe I know I might be in the minority but everyone wants to chop coupes to fastbacks when the coupe's lines are just so crisp and clean. The coupe rear end is still the best looking of Any car I have ever seen. Best wishes

Coupès look better man. The roofline and crisp edges cut a more statuesque, sculpted and angular profile. It can hold its own in looks compared to an Aston Martin of its time. On the other hand the fastback can't compare in looks to a 911 of the same era.
@kennethbeebe3252xchjvguhgy4 ай бұрын
For the small pin holes of rust. Just clean them up and take a mig welder and fill them in then grind flat. It takes some practice but it can be done and repaired like nothing happened. If the rust travels you may need to patch them in.
@kennethbeebe3252xchjvguhgy4 ай бұрын
You should not cut out more than you need. If you have one bad tooth you don’t take the teeth on either side. Welding in small patch panels is cheaper than buying complete pans.
@dominiqueeaster92495 ай бұрын
I think someone back in the day put a CB antenna on the roof and that’s what’s left of it. From what I can tell your car has good bones. Not much rust. Make sure you look up under the dash with a flashlight and check the cowl. Mustangs are notorious for rusting there. Good luck on your project!

Easiest way to pop out that dent is get a section of a 2x4 or a dolly, pry bar , and a body hammer and take your time and slowly work on it. I had to do the same thing on my 67 and it looks a hell of a lot better.
