Choke points, top of steps or hallways, let them come to you as you said. Also multiple attackers in a choke point are toast.

That's what I use for the house. Lots of people disagree and would rather have an AR pistol in 556 or 300 BLK Both good choices. AR is probably better for younger folks or small females. I choose the 12 with 00 buck because of the fight stop capability at close range. As Clint Smith says something along the lines of - "Pistols put holes in people, rifles put holes through people." "But at the right range with the right load shotguns will physically remove a chunk of sh*t off your opponent and throw it on the floor." The man knows what he is talking about. It does what he says it does and that chunk is about the size of a mans fist at normal house room distances.

A lot of people dont realize or think i guess..that a 124 grain 9mm will out penetrate a buckshot pellet...

One has to rely on their own senses of what they see and hear to survive in this situation. For only a few will truly know how to survive and to most this may be a way of life that is totally unknown to them. I do not expect a lot of survivors; the way people are so dependent on their phones and not able to function on their own senses and situational awareness. I am starting to see where the shotgun at the bedside is a definite better choice for some. I once thought that a small revolver or semi-automatic would do but I think about the shotgun being much more to hold on to and the way more damage that it will inflict. My only concern is timing the shock. When your in your house, if you squeeze the trigger of a hand gun, it'll be loud and it may cause you to throw some rounds outside of the group. But you'll still be able to rapidly send rounds down range. But if you let off a slug round in your hallway with a pump action shotty with NO hearing protection - Bro that first explosion WILL disorient you. Now imagine recovering from that blinding and deafing experience then having to pump another round, aim, all while dodging the intruder's bullets. I hate to admit this but I missed with buckshot at 25 yards outside when I forgot my hearing protection. I kept shooting too high for some reason

Not bad. Suggestions to drop a lot of weight: go from 4 knives to 1 or 2, forget the random cup, ditch the phone holder tripod thing, and carry 2 or 3 wet wipes in a ziploc instead of the whole pack. Also look into 2TC to replace the sticks
