The reason why this sounds so good is also because of the tuning. The kick is tuned to C the snare is E natural and the high hat is C. Very hip hop.

Man, you are out of this world! But I guess I should call it "Practise makes perfect". Very nice to hear what is possible. <3

Literally the best pocket I’ve ever fucking heard. I’m jealous. I can’t keep time for shit. But this dude is cleaner than a metronome itself.

Hi, nice groove - I'm a rock drummer so I really can't do what you do; however, I'm interested in knowing, what is that is that layered bent cymbal? Is that custom? Cheers.

Amazing groove and sound!!! Can anyone tell me the name of the mic on the snare please? I've seen other videos of recordings made in this studio with the same mic and it sounds really good. It doesn't look like anything I've seen on snare mic shootouts.

Seriously who TF is cooler than Nate Smith on the drums? Even as accomplished as he is I still don't think he gets enough attention for how great his drumming is.

Nate Smith is a rich player : Simple but complex, technical but musical, subtle but elegant. It's not for everybody because you need an experienced hears to appreciate the level of mastering of this series of dry drumming. But I have good hope even beginners like me who have taste for drumming can get dazzled just by the fluidity, the tone, the groove, the ingenuosity.

God does Nate's playing, Nate's body is just a vessel for the magic he creates. I only screw around playing drums but when I see him play with only a snare, a tom and bass drum and a few cymbals, you realize it has nothing to do with equipment and everything to do with the player.
