I visited Freeport and found the LOCALS rude and ignorant. Happy to see the place in ruin. Since then I vacation in Mexico and Cuba where I am treated well and feel welcome.

I think we stayed there in the mid 90s. It had a great bar in the lobby. If I remember it right, it was near the country club.

😁 In August of 1982 I stayed at The Bahamas Princess, but not the tower. I can't find any photos or videos. The hotel was white, 2 levels (Floors), Villas with a piano, had an interior lounge named The Cove. The Swimming pool was huge & designed like a cave with interior walkways & lit up with colored lights at night, so beautiful! I won the trip on the radio! Once in a lifetime treasured memories!

This is the saddest thing..my husband and I started vacationing there in the 90s and it was where we spent our honeymoon..I would have loved to have taken my kids there..we went every year and the people..shopping..and food were amazing..had my first guava duff dessert there and we bought our wedding bands at international emeralds in the bazaar..such a shame!

How sad. We visited every year from about 1998-2005. This & the adjacent straw market were my favorite spots .

I stayed here with my family in 1973 when I was 5 years old. Howard Hughes was in residence on the top floor when we were there. Howard Hughes owned the hotel at the time. Hughes Trumpy yacht was parked out front in the marina and we were invited to board the yacht by the yacht captain and that was when we found out who owned the hotel and yacht. Here is a clip of Howard Hughes’ yacht. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qsWEac2Sz6rLYWw.html

In it's hay day, my sisters and I and girlfriends made this our annual vacation destination for years. We sometime took the kids with us. Everyone loved Freeport. I loved the Princess Tower and the Princess Country Club. The Sultan's Tent was my favorite night club. It's so sad to see the destruction. I now vacation in Nassau, I love it there too, but it's not Freeport.

Income properties wanted, (houses, factories, warehouses, retail outlets, land developments, in need of refurbishing on a joint venture basis to rejuvenate, sell for a large profit! Also, businesses wanted, in need of startups, turnarounds, marketing, to sell for a large joint venture profit! Our well experienced group provides all the work, materials, "owners only please, provides their equity to reap 70% (plus, a legal rate of reasonable rate of interest until businesses, properties, developments are sold), interest of the sale profit when we sell to our very extremely wealthy foreign investors! Note; Currently have extremely wealthy investors now seeking various businesses and properties for US tax free investments! Time is of essence as time is money in the bank!

I stayed here back in late 90's. Before it was remodeled and waterslide, etc., added. I remember the Princess, the casino and the bazaar area. We also went to visit the Lycann, which was a brand new at the time. What happened here? So sad....

So sad to see this . We stayed at the Princess 36 yrs ago for our honeymoon. The Tower lobby was so beautiful & the grounds & free shuttle to the beach . So much fun shopping at the International Bazaar & straw market. First time I played Blackjack at the El Casino & went home with $800. Everyone got souvenirs 😁 . Thankyou Grand Bahama Princess for the great honeymoon & memories !!

This video is like watching an Episode of The Twilight Zone. I cannot believe that the Princess Towers, the King's Inn, and El Casino are now in this state. All of these properties were economic engines for Freeport and its residents. To see them in this state is beyond emotion. It is too much to bear...how I remember all of these properties in their heyday! So many great memories of shopping, food, drinks, and most of all the Bahamian people!

My boyhood friend circa 1968, when we lived in Freeport, sent me this. He lives in Scotland and I in California. I have always envisioned meeting again in Freeport to visit the old haunts. I never dreamt it would be in such ruin! Same with the Kings Inn across the blvd. Tamara, do you have any idea what happened and when? Was it caused by Prime Minister Pindling's financial coup by cutting off tourism, folding many businesses into the bank of which he had substantial interests?

Thank you for sharing your videos of the Princess Resort and casino I have home videos of my young children running around the fountain and through the resort covered walkways back around 2005 time.. As I look at these videos you have and knowing at this very moment that hurricane Dorian has been sitting ontop of Freeport for 36hrs I can only Imagine what treasures this island will lose from this go around.
