Nice, giving life to an old component instead of just tossing it away!

My work came to a halt right when I discovered I needed a 17mm hex socket for the pulley bolt. Every store seemed to stop at 16mm

You might want to touch up all that silver paint that got scratched and dirty before bagging it up to sell! 😮

Nice video, nothing mentioned about brush wear or busing wear though. Could do without the music too, it's just distracting.

Don't hammer on the inner race of the bearing, unless it is a press fit on the shaft and then only with support. Front bearing install, use a driver that contacts the outer race only!

can you please give me the link to buy tool for this Alternator Pulley Removal.
@sd9062384 ай бұрын
Probably a 17mm allen head impact socket. Use it to only remove the decoupler pulley, don't use it to install the decoupler pulley.

Good stuff man!! Where could I get parts for newer starters and alternators for like an example a 2020 GM truck? Also a tutorial video on that would be great!

Thanks for video it’s very helpful, what’s the size of the bearings

Is there a reason you repacked the bearing instead of replacing it? I think that is likely my issue I have. I'm getting a chirp and I'm pretty sure it's the small bearing, but won't know until I take it apart. Thanks for any insight you might provide.

Probably because theyre usually fine as long as they have grease and weren't already messed up. Not sure tho I'm just giving my opinion

00:30 It's a mistake to hammer the bearing into the housing by striking the the inner bearing race. This will damage the bearing and reduce its life. A bearing should be pressed into a housing using a pipe or socket on the outer bearing race.

Thank you for noticing. Our intention was that for ordinary DIY people with no specialized equipment can get done. Even if you don't have a press you can still achieve acceptable results.

Great video. Are the long bolts supposed to clamp it shut to a specific distance? I opened my Bosch alternator to clean it then it's kind of loose on the mount. I'm afraid I may have clamped it a little too far. I had replaced the bearings on a previous ocasion. I never removed that plate that gets soldered on top. It was very interesting seeing that in this video.

why is it giving out 14 v instead of 12v please
@RCAutoElectric Жыл бұрын
The way the charging system works on this vehicle, is the battery is at 12 volts, the alternator, brings up the voltage from anywhere from 13.5 to 14.5 in order to charge the battery while the car is running and and to supply adequate charge all the electrical components in the vehicle.

Muito bom mas com o preço das peças e da mão de obra fica bem mais barato que trocar por um novo? Poderia apresentar uma lista dos custos? Onde fica sua loja? Funciona a base de troca? Quanto sairia este do Toyota? Obrigado
