Thanks for the vid! I've been dealing with water stuck somewhere behind the front dash and when taking a turn you hear the whoosh of water go from one side to the other and then it leaks at the footwell. It might be a severely backed up sunroof drain that's filling up another cavity.

I have to drive my 997.2 C2S PDK for about 20 mins to get oil to 90* before I can do the auto oil check. It’s a pain cause when you come back from a drive you can easily forget to do the reading. Also my drive is on a slope so I can’t do it there. 400ml is about 1 bar on the gauge. I need to top mine up but have a major service in 2 weeks. Should I bother as I think it will have an oil change then?

I have a 2007 997.1 C2S and agree on the transmission issue. Very clunky and shifting is not very smooth from 1st and 2nd gears. Maybe an adjustment or short shifter would fix it.

You do know that there’s a second chain on the left side called variable camshaft timing VCT units that could also has noises.

This job is helped by having the rear floor rusted out. Also, when that tank is lowered you can get a leaf blower in there and try to power out as much of that trapped top of tank debris. Speaking of trapped debris, That skid plate would fit a non NAS disco. They have a completely different towbar which I think you figured out. I really dig those sliders (I think). They look dirt simple and flush ala the plastic pieces and am curious where you found them and if they actually bolt to frame/outriggers vs the rusty (in my case) bodywork.
@AddictedMotors6 күн бұрын
So my issue with the sliders is since my truck is 94 it has an extra body mount for the seat bracket. Which prevents the sliders from sitting flush. I’ll have to cut them, not the end of the world.

Had a d1 and 3 td5 d2's and on my latest manual disco ive replaced the chassis for galvanised and overhauled everything for braided lines and used australian polybushes in everything. Suspension is all updated but standard ride height and ive rebuilt the ace system. At a glance it looks like a complete rat and I haven't done any body work and shined it up because I didn't want to make it attractive to thieves LOL. To me the D2 handles so much better around corners than the D1 and keeping the ace system going is expensive but worth it. That little 2.5 diesel engine is going close to 200,000 miles and will keep going strong as long as it's maintained, but then that's easy compared to some of the rubbish that's being built nowadays. I've had plenty of cars and trucks that have been amazing to drive or look at but my discovery is the most useful tool that I can rely on time after time. Great video 👍
