I have the same exact machine, and really like it. Just wondering if you ever ran the tusk megabytes on the sportsman and what your thoughts are?
@whiteknuckleoffroadadventu2840 Жыл бұрын
I didn't personally run them on my machine but my buddy ran them for me on hisv2019 polaris sportsman 850HO for one winter and part of the summer. We switched bikes a couple of times to see the difference compared to my cst stag tires. The mega bites performed very well on the hard pack and loose gravel but we did have to lower the air pressure to 4.5 pounds per tire . The cst stag and the original bighorns out performed them in the snow hand's down. And the megabite run about 1 1/4 inches short than what it says so if you decide to get a set make sure you go one size bigger . I would definitely look at the cst stag tires I've been very impressed with my set in every condition thanks for watching

to lock it open, you should add a spring loaded barrel latch, like the ones used on utility trailers with a ramp. when you raise the ramp up, you use those to "lock" each side into place. i got weld on ones from amazon to use on my utility trailer. you would only need a hole in the top of the bumper to hold it in place

@whiteknuckleoffroadadventu2840 Жыл бұрын

I'm ready to replace my Polaris brand "lock & ride" hard case mainly because the rubber latches have long been broken and I'm tired of ratchet strapping the box closed. Looks like the Koplin has similar latches. I like hard cases but as I'm sure you've experienced, everything inside gets the hell beat out of it if it isn't packed tight. Even the little storage boxes inside can't have any unused space inside them or the little items (i.e. tire gauge) will be destroyed by shock and rattling. I use paper towels inside to pack tight. I had a loose chain in the bottom and it nearly wore a hole in the cargo box. Soft cases seem to absorb the shock better as my wife doesn't have this problem. I pack the cargo box full with coats, towels, whatever and my cargo survives.
@whiteknuckleoffroadadventu2840 Жыл бұрын
Agreed the soft cargo bags are definitely better for taking the vibrations out of your gear and not beating up everything inside . The downside for me was the soft bags fade pretty fast and the straps rotted out pretty quickly on my Ogo honcho and the water proofing didn't last long either. The koplin box i have been using is my first experience with a hard box .and so far it's been great . I put foam rubber on the bottom and sides of it and I pack it pretty tight and that seems to work pretty well for me I bought the foam matt from harbor freight . One of my ridding buddies has the Atv tek arched soft cargo box and it seems to be one of the better bags. Maybe take a look at them. Thanks
