Bold of you to expect I never played those, not only did I play them but many of which I had on real hardware as a kid, Sonic 6 on Gameboy in particular is quite good, dare I say high quality for a bootleg with surprisingly good controls and decent level design and lengthy enough content.

Why is 3d included here? You can create an 8 bit 3d game if you were dedicated enough, and its happened in the past. Heck mario 64 supposedly is a 32 bit game. Bits dont matter in that scenario, 3d/2d are rendering methods.
