I think I would be tempted to paint the roof first with black fabric paint to get rid of those marks as you won't ever get an opportunity to do it again as it cant be painted onto silicon.The beading aspect is impressive but does it still allow the fabric to breathe? It was my impression that it isn't the fabric that is supposed to be waterproof but the rubber layer beneath??
@RRW
@RRW 3 күн бұрын
Oh yes it’s a tent fabric so it is breathable and to be honest it’s worn off already. You have to do it every year so I will try the dye aspect this year and I might video it because it was something I thought about afterwards so you have a great mindset, thank you for reminding me. There is a rubber membrane underneath but it’s just nice if the water sits on top and beads off as here in the UK it rains a lot and I like to drive as much as I can with the roof down. So after 5 minutes of driving the roof is dry. Thanks for the comment 👍👊🏻

Hi my friend, looks like your having fun, here's a few answers to your questions, use a mpi fuel tank because it has a return fitment in it, you don't need to modify rear subframe, the fuel tank should bolt straight in after your boot floor mods, fuel lines are 3/8" and 5/16" this way you can use AN fittings, you can use p clips every 300mm for fixing lines, interior lines have to be continuous from rear bulkhead to front bulkhead, use bulkhead fittings, the larget fuel pipe is return line, you will need high pressure fuel pump for the injectors to operate, I have posted a couple of videos of me installing fuel lines on my son's classic rally mini build, which is going to run injection to. Hope this all helps, cheers Marty

Hi. Is the decking oil like a rusty water?, I bought a tin a few years back and it was like a rusty water and had a strong chemical smell and it was great , then bought a similar tin as couldn’t find the same one and it was more like a brown paint consistency with no smell but wasn’t as good
@RRW
@RRW Ай бұрын
The only one I can think of is the oil I use called natural oak that was like rusty water but it didn’t have a chemical smell and to be honest I wasn’t too keen on the look of it and the weathering of it has turned the decking quite grey over a 12 month period more so compared to the other two oils that I used.

It most probably will be the Loctite on the bolt, so once you get the bolt slightly loose work it backwards and forwards in the sense tighten it and loosen it simultaneously this way the bolt will release easier👍

All deck oils and stains are just petroleum based plastic coatings. 'Deck oils' don't actually deposit any oil into the wood, it all evaporates soon after application. 'Weathering' is just the plastic coating visibly deteriorating. If you ever want to actually have oil fill up your deck's wood pores, a linseed oil stain is about the only product capable.

Great decking, looks “ as new “ . I’ve probably left my decking too long ( caravan decking in Norfolk ) and it’s gone that “grey” colour you were trying to avoid. Seems like I’ll now have to go with some form of stain and not a clearer looking Oil. Any suggestions , do or don’ts ?? Many thanks
@RRW

I’ve had grey decking before just make sure the decking is nice and moist and wet. It’s always best to power wash the decking on a day of rain or after a day of rain. If you don’t mind getting wet this way, it’s softens the wood so it cleans up easier. I’ve managed to pull grey decking back to look half decent. You just need a great power wash. A lot of patience and a strong back.😂👍

I also had a very grey weathered decking, I used Ronseal wood cleaner and reviver and it worked brilliantly. I did it twice, ones with a bristle and a garden hose only, and a one week later with pressure washer. My grey and green colour on deck has dissapeared. Try it!

Hi, So Keith Miller on his channel...'Classic mini workshop' used the 4inch Poly Strip disc abrasive wheels. And he said he had got them off of Ebay. I've just searched it myself and there are obviously various suppliers. Think he just used the black ones and said they are very good at getting the paint off without damaging the metalwork underneath. Hope this helps... Cheers Andy 😊

Just discovered this video due to ordering an ipace recently. Sorry to hear about your dad mate. How powerful was that charger at the end? I’m not new to EVs so have some sort of idea but that charger must have been a slow one (or working slowly) for a near 4 hour charge time? You are using the CCS plug there so have thought it would be quicker?
@RRW
@RRW 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The charger at the end was a 25 kW charger. But since it has been made I have been using 50 to 100 kW charges and boy that has made the world a difference in the speed of charging.
