Thanks for the video. I was wondering if you could tell me how you switch battery types on the controller. I notice there are four setting, I just do not know how to change the settings to reflect the type of battery that is being used. as I am going to switch my battery from acid to lithium. Thanks

i think mopar cars get too much hate. i see many people neglect these cars and then wonder why they break. i have a dodge and toyota. the toyota is slightly more reliable but the dodge is cheaper and easy to repair. 03 dakota 264000 miles, 99 corolla 375,000. I had a 300m I sold to my friend. It has over 200,000 miles with a few minor repairs. Its still his daily driver

I think it's all about taking care of your cars. I let my PT go at 430,000 miles. A discontinued proprietary electronic went out and I couldn't find a replacement. Not at dealers. Not at junkyards. It still ran fine. The part controlled the dash. So, no indicators for gas, speed or anything else on the dash. I hated seeing it go.

I give my service dog human food all of the time (not typically in restaurants)! It all depends on the person's preferences and the dog. In his training, he works a lot with leaving different items alone and practicing impulse control as he's guide and mobility and it doesn't affect his ability to work around food. I like giving him a little extra treat sometimes. Also, your boy is beautiful!
@BeBodacious

It's really important to know your dog. The trainers I worked with when training my first service dog, the program that trained this one and the ones I've spoken with in-between, bsolutely stressed no human food. This is because of restaurant floors that have food particles etc. I had the experience of a server trying to give my dog a piece of chicken breast. He literally put his hand and chicken up to my dog's mouth with no warning. Another time a pork chop bone was dropped right in front of him. Oy! But, you work with your dog a lot and know how he'll respond. That's what's most important. Good job both of you!! 💜

Any tips for hotels that may give u issues about the SD when checking in? Asking for proof, etc?
@BeBodacious

Yes. Stay as calm as possible. Sometimes a desk clerk doesn't know about the law. Carrying a printed copy of the ADA law can be helpful. I also like to carry a copy of the service dog law for each state I'm traveling through. I make sure they see the ADA info number at the bottom of the printout. The desk clerk may have to call a manager and the manager may (or not) want to call the hotline. I always tell them that I'll wait while they do so. I have also told them that I would call their customer loyalty number while they did that. Usually one of these steps will resolve the issue. If it doesn't, you may want to phone corporate and/or the Dept. of Justice. I've done that If you can't get resolution, you'll have to decide if you want to stay there. In this case, pick up a business card with the hotel manager's name on it for later reference. Also get the name of whoever is declining to let you stay. You can also call the police to come out to document the denial if you think it's needed. I always photograph or video the inside of the room when we first walk in. I document every stain or scuffed furniture. This way nothing can come back on my service dog. Hopefully this helps. I'll try to get a video up on it soon. Feel free to ask any other questions that you have.

Stopping at a pharmacy after procedures is somewhat normal. So while you're getting that Tylenol you can grab some bandaids and another ice pack. This is nothing to "rant" about, persay, but it is good to know ahead of time. Luckily, not everybody has a 3 hour ride home. I myself won't even get my mammograms because they hurt so bad. I can't imagine having one after a biopsy!
@BeBodacious
@BeBodacious 10 күн бұрын
I hear you on the mammograms. They're awful! A necessity with my family history though. Being so far from a major hospital isn't bad if you know how to prep ahead of time. We would have moved my refrigerator/ freezer to keep ice packs frozen for example. A simple info sheet given in advance or on the breast center website would have solved this. I repeatedly asked if there was anything I needed to pick up or do and was told no. One of the women was pretty nauseous after her procedure. She said they didn't give her anything for it and also had to make the pharmacy run. It could also be difficult for people facing the wrong side of payday. So, I figured the best thing I could do for others was to make the video. Thankfully it seems to be helping.

I have a question about your alert dog. How do I go get one of my dogs trained to be an alert dog? My youngest brother is a type 1 diabetic and he has two puppies about 7-8 months old. And the male puppy( name is Chappie) can sniff out my brother’s Dexcom anywhere it is. Is that him telling my brother that he needs to check his blood sugar? Chappie hasn’t had any service dog training, and I just want to know if I can get trained to be a service dog.
@BeBodacious
@BeBodacious 27 күн бұрын
It sounds like Chappie may be on to something. There are a couple of ways you can go. First, I would start by keeping a list of his behavior, times, and actual blood sugar readings. For training you can hire a private trainer, owner train yourself or do a combination. Some trainers will train medical alert dogs because it's specialized. Your veterinarian and/or vet techs may be able to suggest a trainer. Most pet stores have trainers. You can generally talk with them before or after classes for free. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. I'm always glad to help when possible. Best of luck to your brother. I hope everything works out with the puppy.

Telling my service dog to find the treat aisle is more than fun. It's training. It reinforces how to work in distractions. And, if I told him to "find Dad" somewhere, he would be able to do it. Want to see more? See my service dog playlist at kzfaq.info/sun/PLmvtPMmFMFYN56rxMWOmnlqWmioZ-nXZ0
