Thanks for this! How do these sinker slides compare to the classic Eagle Claw black/red longer barrel ones or even the super short barrel duo-lock sliders that are out there? What is the max oz weight you can put on these?
@ScaleUpadventures
@ScaleUpadventures 15 күн бұрын
They go pretty well. You get the odd one crack when using larger sinkers. But they are so cheap, I don't mind. I'm not sure of the weight rating. I will find the pack and see if I can find out for you.

Sorry you had to see that mate. Many years ago I was helping an old guy drag his tinnie up on the beach at Jacobs Well. The poor bugger had a heart attack during the process. His wife was there and all efforts to revive him failed. Life can throw these things at you sometimes. these things are a part of life I guess, but it sucks anyway.

Mate!! I was fishing landbased at Brighton beach around 5 or 6 weeks ago I’d say and a local came up to me and said he spotted a headless deceased male with leg tattoos on his drone. Showed me the footage and everything. I was wondering if it was going to ever hit the news! Apparently it looked as though he had floated down from up the river.
@ScaleUpadventures

A mate and I were doing drifts under the bridge at about 2am that morning and there was a guy pacing back and forth up on the bridge and kept looking over the railing just next to the fishing platform and I even said to my mate 'whats this bloke doing' because it was odd. After learning what happened, I believe it was this man you found. It was almost like he was waiting for us to leave
@ScaleUpadventures
@ScaleUpadventures 28 күн бұрын
It's possible, but there was no rope on that bridge. I think it might have been from a bridge further upstream. From what I heard, he was from the strathpine area.
@jarrodgray6570
@jarrodgray6570 28 күн бұрын
@@ScaleUpadventures odd coincidence then perhaps but what make me believe it is that apparently it was a thin length of wire and we watched ses out there 2 days later searching and found something on the sand bank under the bridge about 200m towards Brighton and guys in wet suits in a dingy come out and took it away in a big white bag... Makes you wonder..

Thank you for this! Question, though: would it be OK to NOT use the 2nd swivel at the mainline end and just let the mainline slide as far as it would like? My thinking is that the weight could run into the 2nd swivel once the fish pulls it as far as it can, and therefore would feel the weight and potentially release the bait? All theoretical, of course! :-)
@ScaleUpadventures
@ScaleUpadventures Ай бұрын
Yeah that would be fine 1 swiver works great. The only reason I use two is when surf fishing you can get a lot of line twist so the 2nd swivel helps reduce any tagles.

That's NOT a blood knot, which is a knot used to tie two line of equal thickness together (also called barrel knot). The knot you are tying is a Trilene knot which is actually a Clinch Knot with the tag end passed through the eye twice instead of once.
