Aside from your disparaging comments about "discernment ministries" (and some are bad, to be sure, but it is not necessary to go hunting or looking for false doctrine and/or false prophecies in the charismatic movement - they abound) I was pleasantly surprised at your honesty here. Hard for me to reconcile what you said here with your defense of the likes of Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland. Have you ever called out troy Black for being a false prophet?

I do think he should be a motivational speaker. I believe he is an exhorter which is cool. No problem. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe that’s what his calling is because he is really good at it. I will say that they tend to have good Bible studies by other people on Wednesday nights who have teaching gifts and that’s a good thing, but the Bible says in one Timothy three and Titus, one that overseers should be able to teach. It might not be your strength, but you should be able to do it. However, I absolutely believe that Joel loves the Lord with all his heart, and has a strong mercy motivation, which can get him into trouble sometimes. Despite my misgivings, he should not be misrepresented in anyway. Period. He is a brother in the Lord and we love him. I would say that he should not be your only diet.

I am not a huge fan of Joel Osteen. My problem with him is not so much what he says, but what he doesn’t say. I believe he is a Romans 12 exhorter, which is great, but a pure exhort probably shouldn’t be pastoring. But in any case, The blind, not by site, guy has a lot of good points, but these discernment guys tend to find anything they can to make a huge deal about, and for the record, I am blind myself, and have been since birth so I can talk about it. Lol just observationally, he exudes Arrogance just like a lot of these other discernment guys do. Not saying, the Lord isn’t working through him, but people that only call people out on their channels really get on my nerves, especially when they exaggerate things or outright say things that are not true to begin with. I disagree with some of these guys as much as anybody, but you have to have right representation, and it really bothers me that some of these people act like all of us Pentecostals are just a bunch of nut Cases, because we actually believe in what the word of God says about speaking in tongues, prophesying, healing the sick, casting out, demons, etc.

Dude you’re stretching. I like Mike Winger. The thought and effort he puts in. Using one small statement to describe his views on repentance…he does hit it a bit different than Osteen…and yes…that’s what I’m thinking when I repent is I’ll do better, be better. Otherwise it’s not repentance.

I used to go to that church and I am not a fan of the man because of what he does not preach and some of what he does preach. He is way out of balance. Your facts are off, just a little. Before becoming the pastor , he owned multiple businesses and made some really good property investments. Fact, he was a multimillionaire prior to becoming the pastor of Lakewood Church.
