Shout out to "CB" , this was filmed in their office at the time, and you can hear us going over paperwork for "Sarbanes-Oxley Act" compliance.

It was more an evolution of the SA knife, Olivetti did some but was design by the same company that makes the KM2000, the knife it’s ok for what u pay for the point it’s good and the edge also it’s ok, mine has tacky edges on the plastic but i can live with it, regards.

I had that exact model back in the mid to late '80s. The cut out was where they put the solid brass dummy rounds that were sold separately. The rounds had a hole drilled out in the front and from what I remember the the barrel was blocked but had that pin extending into the chamber to fit into the front of the drilled out dummy round. Mine didn't have the orange plug. The barrel was open about 1/4 inch, then there was a black solid barrel. I learned to field strip a 1911 at 15 years old and still can do it blindfolded today. The 80s was the best...

AHA, that makes sense, with the 'pin' shape in the the chamber area. I also played mix and match between the blued and nickel plated versions, and the parts were not 100% interchangeable ( slides and triggers would bind up )

wonder how it would handle sustained fire w/ all the heat being produced...
@alvmahn
@alvmahn 17 күн бұрын
I hope I never have to perform sustained fire in the future. That said, the product description said the cord is made from Kevlar, and listed items it could be attached to that I think would possibly get very hot. So will it melt? emit fumes?

parts for project 'in between burners on the stove'.... its a tough project, because, the real item is un-obtanium in the US due to importation rules (rules schmools). But there are sort of close parts, so been acquiring them as I come across them, and hopefully, will get at least a 75% looks-like clone, to what I am going for.

Lookin at getting one right now for the history in general, but can you still fire normal ammunition out of the barrel? Or do you have to remove the spigot before you fire live ammunition again?
@alvmahn
@alvmahn Ай бұрын
For safety purposes, ensure both items are unloaded, then remove the spigot before you fire ammunition cartridges.

Given the slow speed, this was intended pretty much exclusively as a voice recorder. Music would sound pretty awful on it. It very likely had half track heads, so it was designed to record on both sides of the tape. Most mono machines of the day used that configuration. The good news is that it has capstan drive, meaning the tape runs at constant speed and can be more easily transcribed to a digital file. If the recording is something you want to keep, that would be the way to go. However, 15/16 speed was not very common, so it might take some work to find someone who can transcribe it.
