Thanks for your valuable video and information~! (from Korea :) ) Is it possible to attend the University of Melbourne as an international PhD candidate and receive financial support without having another job?

I can't help but notice a rather amusing pattern-it seems that most of the time I click on your videos or while watching them, you're always enjoying some sort of tasty treat! Is it just a coincidence or do you have a secret passion for snacking on camera? Either way, it's always fun to see what you'll be nibbling on next!

Fantastic daily Yahua! May I have some tips on taking the position as a teaching assistant from you? I'm going to undertake my PhD in UK this Sep, and this would be my first time overwhelmed in English environment. Indeed I was quite looking forward to it, but I can't help being extremely nervous since i made the oral deal with my supervisor, just worried the accuracy of my content and interact well in English. Particularly for those who got educated in exam-oriented system before. You did very well with relax in your video, that's really impressive.
When I was in Nanning I ate Guilin mifun almost every day. Luckily I can find it in San Francisco where I live now. I miss GuangXi

I’ve been watching and rewatching your videos for a long time, your lifestyle and the way you describe your life inspire me a lot. And the interesting thing is, I usually watch your videos whenever I get stressed in academic world, writing thesis drained me a lot energy, then I would watch your videos, seeing how you engage in PHD, then I could feel that I gained much more motivation on my thesis. Thank you so much! Btw, I’m wondering how you maintain balance between school work and content creation at the same time?
@YahuaАй бұрын
thank you so much❤ I'm glad that you can get a sense of relief here - we are not alone in this journey! To be honest I can't really balance between uni and content nowadays cuz PhD is getting more stressful than before🥲 but making content is like a productive distraction for me and I think it's important to do sth outside of academia. So I'm still learning the art of balancing!

It's great to know that some people still appreciate old-school photo albums! I do the same with my kids' photos because I find that keeping memories in a book is more emotional and easier to access than on a digital device. It just feels more personal.

Hi, loved your vlog! Keep up with the snowboarding, I've been doing it for about two years now and also working on being more confident with my turns, especially when it's steep. Keep at it and have fun ♡
Thanks Yahua. I am a vit registered teacher working in local school. Are you planning to stay here or going back to China after graduation? Let me know if you need a job in Melbourne. No kidding.

Hello Yahua! Thanks a lot for talking about this. I certainly feel the same self-doubt too, asking myself is all this energy and time worth it to produce something mediocre and of little contribution to scholarship. I think it highlights all the skills you develop during the PhD - such as emotional resilience and assertiveness. Sometimes, like you, you need to step away for a few days and think about it afresh after a break. I definitely have found this to be true so far even early in my PhD journey as I am now. And I have tried making ceramics too - it is so much harder than it looks! It is fun though to be able to "feel" the clay and know when it is about to collapse by its sensation in your hands. It's a great tactile experience!

Hi, your video is impressively awesome with quality content. I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree with my full time job at the same time this year, I always have a lot of self-doubt moment when I am doing my paper although this is just a year mixed-mode Master's Degree, sometime I will think whether I am doing the right decision to continue my study. Numerous self-doubt lead me to think of give up sometime but I don't feel like quit while I am on half of the way. I even think of continue with PHD after graduate from Master's Degree.
