i have a raytcus 50w is this the same process to focus it? the optimal focal point for the laser to engrave is about 3 mm shorter than where my red preview laser making the red laser slightly fuzzy i can still see what its projecting just not a crisp clean line
@CalebKraftmakesКүн бұрын
the central laser has nothing to do with focus. it is purely there as a preview of what will be lasered, and needs adjusted in the software to line up perfectly with the final result. Focus is done manually, or on some machines with 2 additional lasers. I personally don't use the 2 lasers because I never felt like I could get them perfect
@StakespecialtyКүн бұрын
@@CalebKraftmakes I understand that... The preview is blurry when the laser is in focus... If I move the laser head down 5mm or so the preview line is in focus is there a way I can refocus the red preview light to be in focus while the fiber is in focus?
@CalebKraftmakesКүн бұрын
@@Stakespecialty I'm not an expert but that shouldn't be possible if the preview laser is properly centered. They both go through the same lens on mine. This means you probably have a set up I am just not familiar with. I'd check out www.youtube.com/@LaserEverything , they have a discord where people help each other out.
@StakespecialtyКүн бұрын
@@CalebKraftmakes I know I'm in that discord nobody has been able to help 😔
@CalebKraftmakesКүн бұрын
@@Stakespecialty I could see this happening possibly if the preview laser is not centered. or if it is faulty and super wide for some reason. if it is centered and correctly functional, they both get focused by the same lens.

I'm old and our family of 5 bought one new in Southern California mid 1960's. My brother and I slept in the overhead hanging cots, my sister slept on the motor mount between the front seats and mom and dad in the rear lower bed for two. Dad was proud of the sound system and we would drive down the road listening to kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eNiKdcyisJbUaXk.htmlsi=8IWlAWC2Jjk6UREy We had many a fun outing as a young family of 5 and find memories of our Travco Van. We eventually upgraded to a Winnebago 27 footer.

I rotate model manually, snap function in rotation, prusa slicer work great, 90, or 180 degree.most of time model import in horizontal, sleeping position on slicer bed.

interesting! I will try without the plastic

i have a 50w split and have 2 red dots which are not near one another. I can bring them together but it is not near the focal length that I need, nor are they near the work area of the rectangle that I'm testing. What does 2 red dots do to a project if I run a test and shouldn't the red dot be in the middle of the project that you are trying to engrave?
@CalebKraftmakes16 күн бұрын
2 red dots aren't for aiming the laser. The 2 red dots are meant to be adjusted to come together as one dot when you hit the perfect distance from the surface. Your'e supposed to re adjust those whenever you get the laser or when you change lenses. I can never get them perfect so I just turn them off.

If the technique works, it works. I suggest that you make a holding frame with a side clamping ability, that you put the copper in for inking. Make it big enough so it can be held in place with f-clamps or the dogs on your work bench. That way you have a way it will be held in place without you having to touch the copper plate. If you make the frame such that the plate will fall out of the bottom when you loosen the side clamps, you won't have to touch the plate to put in on the presser.

Damn bud. What a heartbreaker.... Hope your injury is healing well. Seems like a lot of my favorite makers are having health issues of late. If the money to make a couple hundred square feet of hill for the animals to rest and retreat to were not an issue would you and your wife still want to keep them? Your animal videos are nice, you're a great dude, and I wouldn't be surprised if a gofundme to make a nice flood hill for your critters would be successful. I'd toss you a few bucks. Obviously your critters love ya if your wash-away chickens even figured out how to hike home.

Have you considered using your laser to transfer the image and then engrave it? Or does that reduce the effectiveness of the engraving?
@EaselCatАй бұрын
That what I do it makes it so much easier.
@CalebKraftmakesАй бұрын
@@scotttovey yeah totally! especially for surfaces that don’t transfer well. there are 2 reasons i dont do it all the time. 1) you have to carve all the laser lines away, they dont wipe off like a transfer. not a huge deal but not great for when you want a little flexibility. 2) i wanted to figure some stuff out on the fly, like the background. if i didnt like it, i can wipe it away and try a different one.
