if only pointer adjustment is needed….just remove the bezel and glass…remove the pointer and replace in the corrected desired position…replace bezel and glass…job done..

Amazing. The knowledge that you are sharing is way more than just the typical “The Perfect Cura Profile” videos most make. I love that you were actually speaking about the physical aspect of nozzle travel when printing, and the nuances or issues involved. Your English is amazing, and you were very effective and describing the nuances and how to handle them.

Best part is you can use a 0,25mm nozzle and have extreme quality but still use 0.5mm line width to increase speed.

Nice, but I've also noticed that the filament climbs back and forward on the teeth on the big gear, changing the quantity of filament being extruded. Extruder works more consistently if the bearing on the idler arm is also grooved keeping the filament on the teeth at the same diameter. My Genius Pro has extremely bad horizontal banding and was suffering all of the faults you have shown here, plus more. It still prints with banding and I am trying to determine exactly where it is originating from. Maybe the Z axis gear.

Thank you for the tips and showing the driver anatomy. ‏‪3:26‬‏ I'm still not sure about air gap effects, but heaving the ptfe coming too much causes in my printer to it being crushed, narrowing the ptfe tube at the end of it and blocking pathway of filament. So I'm still not sure about the correct ptfe placement. I guess it should be exactly straight with the exit - avoiding air gap, and on the other hand, avoiding the nozzle to squeeze it. Thanks for documenting this.

I have often wondered if it would be much easier to adjust a dial caliper if the actual rack was made to move back and forth.......then all you have to do is slacken the holding screws for the rack and move it left or right to get the needle to once more be vertical.......this would save having to open up the works to get it to calibrate to zero........my Mitutoyo dial caliper has a single small gear that meshes with the rack and it sometimes hops over a tooth and the needle goes off centre......crap design.

"the extruder cannot be the cause" - Don't be so quick to discount dual extruders causing resonance. This is a thing people have had to trouble shoot. Chep did a test where he tested a 0.9 motor and it made no difference in quality at all. This is the thing with 3D printers, what might work for someone doesn't work for someone else, or the upgrade exposes other problems. When you work with such precision and want the best you can go down a rabbit hole very quickly.

Thank you so much. I fix a lot of the tools that we use and make some custom tools that are part-specific. This will hopefully help me fix the collection of dial calipers that are in my repair bin. I'm looking for the preset torque specs for the main test indicator tip pivot for jeweled bearings. They seem to be extremely delicate and sensitive. I'm not sure that my old hands can feel that tiny amount anymore. Thanks again for putting this up! It is also great to get this from someone with the same perspective, being German/Austrian myself. We seem to have a knack for inventing tools and machines. We see things from an "analytical and How mechanical things work" perspective. It makes us good at what we do. I work in aerospace, and due to a spine injury, no longer operate large cnc milling machines. I assemble subassemblies and rework and repair parts that need some help. I have to know a whole bunch of stuff and have had to come up with new ways to do things when the common methods our vendors use fail. Parts get scratched, dropped, banged, and dented. They complain about how many tools I have at work and that three tool rollaway cabinets are too many , but I can do anything they throw at me. I have been meaning to look this up for years now and just got it in my head tonight. Thank you!
