Winter tires are not just for snow, they are softer rubber compound in them so they work better in cold weather too

The flaps are probably for ventilation during moist seasons. The owner should know. But I am guessing you close them when it is cold and dry out.

Was it "Pösa"? It's a traditional Swedish dish, but usually not eaten at Christmas. Kroppkakor/palt isn't really Christmas food either. Ris a la Malta is nice, but I don't think I've ever had it on Christmas. I don't care, you do you, just saying

I don't really like any of these. Rear U shape sitting area that has minimal conversion is what Im leaning towards - NO TABLE. We want it as open and clutter free as possible. All the gadget stuff is so heavy, overbuilt and clumsy. Also.... so many of the builds are focused on van life, we want a travel van for camping and travel, not for living. Different pyramid and approach.

You: "We'll cook and bake all these things..." Me: "I better watch and perhaps learn something." You: "...that we have never done before." Me: "Or perhaps not?" Trying new dishes are fun, so thanks for sharing. The piece of moose looked nice, like everything else. The burnt cabbage just gives the rest of it a hint of smoky flavour. ;) Midsummer greetings from Stockholm! PS My spoon hole theory: It was a very sharp and hard grain of rice. You are lucky to be alive!

I just don't get it. Beds in a van are such a waste of space and time. Long live the humble hammock. Quick and easy to set up. Comfortable. Stuffable and stowable. No problem finding a level spot for the van. No need for blocks and levelers.
@lisasomewhere8828 күн бұрын
Yes, they are so comfortable! Great idea for a solo traveller! :) But not feasible trying to sleep 2.

Anyone have ideas for draining? What to do with the water for showers?
@lisasomewhere88Ай бұрын
For showers I would either just do an outlet to the bottom of the van that can be shut if necessary (but then a higher shower pan might be good). Ideally though would be some sort of holding tank of that shower water underneath the van with draining option.

I can’t wait to start doing that . We live in Peoria and never been rock hounding before . Gibbs start getting hot here soon so I’m planning on starting at the end of this year . I know nothing about it
@lisasomewhere882 ай бұрын
Haha, I was a bit wary of those holes, believe me. Always throwing rocks in there before I come too close. Rock hounding is incredibly fun - you just gotta start somewhere. Roughly know what you're looking for and off you go. But also check if you're on private property, just to be safe. Wishing you lots of fun and finds when you go out there!

That's in terms of the vans direction, seen from a planning perspective. vertically meaning along the long side of the vehicle. :)

Hi! How did you figure out which pieces you needed starting at 6:10? I am planning on doing this system too, but even though it is so simple, the compression fittings are confusing to me. Thanks for your time!
@lisasomewhere884 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes, I was very confused too! Started with just going to Homedepot, seeing what kinds of connections there are in the first place, and the terminology. Basically knowing the name/size/material of what you want to connect with the plastic tube (but for faucets most compression fittings are the same), and then just seeing with which connector you can get a bit closer to it. Also just googling what end you want to connect to another end, helped a lot. There’s a lot out there but not everything, so you need some inbetween connectors usually. Installing the foot pump needed much less pieces than with the electrical pump though, so that’s a plus. :) Good luck on the install! 💪We haven’t had a leak/problem with that system at all after 2+ years. 👍

As we say, underbart är kort! I suspect you missed a january/february treat: Semla! And, of course, you won't experience going out just after midnight and the sky it's barely dark-ish. Swedish summer nights are pure magic, hope you'll get to experience it some day!
