To say high church means liberal is a pretty aggressive oversimplification. I’m a member of the LCMS church and we stand as one of the most staunchly conservative churches out there, much more so than Pentecostals, most of which are okay with women pastors.

Short version: Back in the day, the powerful elite realized that the best way to control populations was to exploit their innate fear of death by promising them an eternal afterlife of happiness in exchange for their servitude and donations here on Earth. What they couldn't have predicted was exactly HOW successful this scheme would turn out to be!

Vedic religion is older than zoroastrianism , & zoroastrianism is influenced by Vedic Religion of Hinduism . Zoroastriniam's Holy Book Avesta is actually a dub of Holy Vedas but in reversal form. in other words the God of Holy Vedas are the step brothers of the God of Holy Avesta of Zoroastrianism . Zarashustra the founder of Zoroastrianism is actually the Great Ancient Hindu Guru Shukracharya who travelled from Ancient India to Ancient Assyria .

@UsefulCharts, as a retired 63-year-old CT government employee and history fan since reading my first Encyclopedia Tematica (by themes) Salvat (Spain's) the 1960s, thanks for all the years I've enjoyed with your content and introducing us to your other colleagues and to the Useful Charts Reddit forum. Every day I find something new to learn about and you motivate me research it from the names to the places. The Bagration video made my head spin when realizing they are the oldest family line and possibly related to every major royal in antiquity. People that don't know what to do when retired just one word, keep on learning to keep that brain engine sharp!

I have seen this many months ago and suddenly appeared in my recommended selection again. Watched it again and loved it again. Really great work and great way to explain. Kudos! I posted this question when I first saw it but didn't get any response. Posting it again, in hopes that maybe this time I would get a response. Jonah seems to be missing in this. Why is that? Is he not in the Bible? I noticed that Jonah (Younus) is represented in the the Islamic Prophets chart, but in the Biblical chart Jonah is not there. Is this an oversight or am I unaware of something with regards to Jonah and the Bible. It would be a great help if Matt or someone help with the understanding. Thank you.

As a Hindu living in India, the denominations have an almost transparent line between them, as people worship all gods, just some regions and sects believe more and worship one god a little more than the other. We as Vaishnavs have equivalent faith in lord Krishna Lordess Parvati, lord shiva, lord ganesha, lord rama etc. the denominations that you pointed out our not known the common hindu person.

None of these DNA is accurate because no DNA is matched to ancient DNA like Clovis and other ancient DNA so with that said they do modern DNA which has admixture which not one DNA cannot separate

Before Konstantpole it was the Greek city Byzantio and then East rome. Most of western peoole did not recognize the east Rome empire as true romans even they refered to themself as such bcs of the ancient Rome heritage. There were seen by many as a Hellenizated empire- Imperium Graecorum - continued by Rome and just kept the name. So it was Grecoroman but with Greek culture language names etc. Konstanpolis is a Greek name So can considers Greeks had from 7th cen bc untill 15th

You have not any knowledge about Indian religion, that reason you think Hinduism Buddhism and Sikhism is different, but they have not really differences, Buddha, guru nanak are reformer of Indian society, just like many others , like sant Kabir, aadiguru Sankaracharya, swami vivekanand and many other, there teachings and thought are included in our Indian society, we are once,

Hirohito had almost zero power, and most of the decisions were made by the government, as it is today. The only problem was that the army and navy both had ministry positions and had a huge influence compared to other ministries. Hirohito never wanted war, so if Hirohito had any power there would have been no war.

Jainism is the oldest than Budhism & Hindusim. The Shramana Tradition is older than Vedic Religion. Please study it! before you publish this map of family tree. Jainism is different Religion from Hindusim. Bhagwan Mahavir is 24th Tirthankar. He is not the Founder of Jainism. Founder is Bhagwan Rushabdev who is 1st Tirthanker. Contact the Jain Priet. Please study it and make correct it!!!

There's one more category emerging in India right now that is "Sai Baba followers" that was formed by a Sufi Muslim named Sai Baba (baba = "father/teacher like"), he collected Groups of Hindus and Muslims and formed his own religion (sort of) inside Maharashtra state in India. (The Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi is visited by an average of 25,000 pilgrims daily.) He formed his own monotheism and his slogan is "sabka malik ek" which means everyone is owned by one.

I'm a Bahai, and I've noticed there are a few misconceptions in the video at the Bahai part. Here are some oversimplified corrections: 1. In 1844, the one person who later claimed himself to be Mahdi in Tehran, Persia, was (not Bahaullah, but) a man called Ali Muhammad, also known as the Bab (the Arabic word for "door", mentioned in the Shia Imam Family Tree video), and was the founder of Babism. The Bab was executed in 1850, before which he prophesied there would be a man "whom God shall make manifest" to succeed him. 2. In 1852, one follower of the Bab, Mirza Husayn Ali Nuri, also known as Bahaullah since 1848, was imprisoned in Tehran. During which time he had several mystical experiences, when a maiden from heaven told him, he was the promised one, a manifestation of God, before he was released and banished from Persia. In 1863, when he was in Baghdad, Iraq, Bahaullah revealed to his family and followers he was the one "whom God shall make manifest". In Bahai theology, Bahaullah is considered the second coming of Messiah. Conclusion: The Bab - Mahdi. Bahaullah - Messiah. I appreciate your work as always. Thanks! ❤️

Basic flaw in the research that vedic religion is influenced by Indo European polytheism. Migration of population to India which is indirectly refering to Aryan Invasion Theory which is a well cooked story by European colonizers who colonized India to divide India and conquer it. Religion is very narrow word which actually does not fit to Indian context, It is Dharma which has a wider meaning, so it's Sanatana Dharma (currently referred as Hindhu Dharma), Jaina Dharma, Bouddha Dharma and sikh Dharma. Unless west understands the concept of Dharma in Indian context, all theory, analysis, comparison will be far from Truth. Sorry to mention these but these are facts which west doesn't know or west intentional ignore or hide it. Hope it triggers thoughts to look Indian Dharma with Indian context.

It is western scholar concept to assign “isms” to everything. Hinduism means nothing in reality. there is no concept of religion as such in the Indian sub continent historically. There is what is referred to as “Dharma”, which allows to follow any path to “seek”. The “dharma” was called “Sanatan Dharma” which talked about ways of nature including how it and society can evolve with time, ways of humans, ways of society and duty of each. This is why Jain, Buddha, Sikh, Shaiv, Vaishnav, etc etc are the paths one could take to seek the “truth” or “knowledge”. Not one is better than the other and everyone has to decide to seek their own way. This is why there are so many Gods and everything in natures is worshipped / respected. As regards “Hindu”, this is just the people who lived in the sub-continent or “Bharat”. This is not a religion. In fact, the region has no equivalent of the term “religion” in any of our 20+ ancient languages. What we have is “dharma” which is rough “duty” or “responsibility” or “way of existence” or “way of seeking”. British came with their mostly western understanding of belief systems and applied their lens to coin the term “Hindu-ism”.
