One thing I really respect about Radiohead is the lack of drama and celeb gossip surrounding them. With a frontman handling interview questions like this, which are designed to spark that kind of drama and gossip, its easy to see why the band is able to just get on with making music without all that extra faffery weighing them down.

Interviewer: blablabla Him: yep. No. Next question

At the end of the day I love how the interview does actually give insight on who he is as a person, more of a private and mysterious guy than a people pleaser. The lighting and framing choices are pretty horrible though damn

This makes me respect Thom even more. The interviewer was asking really dumb and overly personal questions to him, he didn’t want do answer, and he handled it very good. For example when he said: “can you imagine quitting radiohead and doing your own stuff? ” YOU DONT ASK THOSE KIND OF QUESTIONS. And Thom immediately saying “next question” is so brave of him. I love Thom with every cell of my body.

I honestly find it odd that the interviewer wants to demand an answer from him. Doesn’t the interviewer understand that the point of an interview is not to get the answer you want to hear, but to get the answer the interviewee gives? If you don’t like what Thom Yorke gives, go interview somebody else.

I can really relate to what Thom is saying about his contribution to the band's writing process. I am pretty good at starting things or providing a launchpad, but I need my compatriots to help flesh it out and bring their own things to it. I actually think that's one of the great things about making music as a team rather than solo. It's beautiful to see what is created when minds work together.
