They got me for $600 when I was 14. They were such scumbags they let me send in checks every month from mowing lawns and shoveling snow. They could have turned down my offer knowing I was just a kid with no money, but they didn't. Only buy from reputable dealers. Feel free to respond to me if you need help.

Currently in baseball, I say that the Seattle Mariners are the most cursed team. Not because they are the only team that never made the World Series, but many fans blamed it on their original Trident logo. According to the Greeks, pointing the Trident down is considered bad luck. Since their inception, the Mariners had such poor ownership that came with more losing seasons.

I ask the same question in regards to Darryl Strawberry about how good he would have been if it had not been for his substance abuse issues.

Murray on the east coast, Carew on the west coast. Great, consistent players over 15+ years, and class acts off the field.

Am I the only one who thinks his steroid test failure was a setup? He'd never tested positive before, no one remembers him ever taking them, and his positive test came shortly after his testimony in front of congress. I mean, I would think someone of Palmeiro's intelligence would know better than to shoot up after he was adamant he never used the stuff.

Fun Fact: This game was not televised in Philadelphia. Some will say they remember watching it but it wasn't aired until a couple of days later on tape delay but in those days they didn't televise every game and this was one of those games. This is why you can't find any TV audio from the Phillies and the only Phillies audio was from the radio broadcast.

If my math is correct, combining the 2 halves the division winners should have been the Cardinals, Reds, Orioles, and A's based off of winning % and not total wins/losses but this would have been unfair as they didn't play an equal number of games. The NFL strike the following year did total wins/losses but they all played an equal number of games.

It didn't have to be split. If they wanted an extra round of playoffs all they needed to do was take the top two teams in each division over the course of the entire season.
@Rockhound6165
@Rockhound6165 2 күн бұрын
But even that would have been unfair as there was an unbalanced number of games played. For example, the Phillies played 107 games but the Cardinals played 102.

@@Rockhound6165 I still think it's better than the split season idea. The teams already in had no incentive to play in the second half, and more importantly, the two best teams in the NL were left out. There was a strike at the beginning of the 1972 season where teams had an uneven amount of games played and they still kept the traditional setup. Sucks but that is the risk with strikes.

The crazy thing about cincinnati was they had the best record in mlb in 1981 and they had the worst record in the nl in 1982 with 101 losses minnesota had the worst record in mlb with 102 losses

Even crazier is the gross uneven number of games between teams. Split season was bad enough, but some teams had a handful of extra games to help their cause
