Hey Rob! No you aren't required to do that - it's just something I do for my own organization & to make it easier for me to read the full image file name :)

How often do you find SEO needs becoming more important that usability needs? If a user is forced to first, view the services page, then click the call to action button to go to a different page so that the user can then go to a separate page to a booking page or a contact page?Web design has so many cooks in the kitchen, it's hard for me to assess how a developer prioritizes one set of data points over another.

Very valid question! There are many factors to consider with regards to SEO and web design - what works best for one website might be different from another, but generally speaking it's important to have standalone services pages even if you do make people click through a bit to get to them from the main home page :)

Thanks for a great video! I would like to know how language affects Google Searches. For example, if I have French clients searching in French for something similar to my service but I am based in Brazil and therefore the site is in Portuguese, can do they find it? Do I need to make multiple language sites? Or does Google translate automatically? Thanks

Its unbelievable that Squarespace do not have facility (still, after tons of devs complaining) to change the name of an image in the assets library. Shocking considering they tout themselves as a superior platform. It means that if youve built your site and then do SEO after, you have to rename ALL your images on your PC then reload them ALL again into the correct pages. Most people do multiple edits of a photo before choosing the one to use, and even if you are organised, this is a huge headache. Im beginning to really go off SqSp. They charge a premium but do very little to respond to users who know how things should be,

@@CharlotteOHara1 yes, you may already have the videos, I'm not familiar with your content, but I need help in understanding how to structure my homepage in its design, what content needs to be there for SEO optimization, and just a walk through of setting up a professional landing (home) page with SEO in mind. I'm slowly learning and I'm starting to get it much more now that it's been 6 months or so into SEO. But another thing I would like to see you cover is HOW to Choose meta titles appropriately for the page, service, blog post, or product for optimal CTR and not be too wordy. Just what aspects do I focus on when crafting an SEO title, description, URL slug and the page title is a little bit easier to deal with, but basically just a complete tutorial from brand new site, to fully optimized e-commerce site with blog and digital product features. The thought processes behind what you're doing and exactly how to do them to have optimal SEO in every aspect and in every area of my page, pages and entire site. I really like the way that you break things down you make them very simple and friendly an approachable and that makes it easy to digest and Trust what you're saying plus you show expertise in the area. So if you could do a series on a brand new page blank page add populating it from beginning to end as an e-commerce slash blog slash digital product site with SEO optimization in mind in every square inch that would be excellent and I would definitely reference you give you back links and watch your content. Thank you for the video. I was watching another video and someone mentioned that using tags and categories on your blog for seo is actually hurtful for your website since google labels it as repetitive content. Is this something to keep in mind when using tags/categories or is that just bad advice? They mentioned to make sure that it’s hidden from search results and to turn it off if you use them.

Great question LeeAnne! The CONTENT of the blog post is wayyyyyy more important/weighed more heavily for SEO by Google/other search engines than tags & categories. You should be focused on creating high quality long form blog posts.... and then I recommend still using T&Cs especially if it helps with organization of your blog post content :)

Great video- I have a question please- I updated me SEO appearance but when I search my site in Google it hasn’t updated- I waited 2 days but still no update- Google uses information from another part of my website 🤷🏽♀️

Hey Lee! It's not uncommon for Google to take longer than 2 days to re-crawl & re-index your Squarespace website, still showing the old info from your site in the meantime. Just sit tight for a few more days :) you can always manually request if you need but patience is what i'd recommend haha

Hmmm I'm not sure if you can automatically pull reviews on your website over to your Google Business Profile, Google might be able to tell you and if so, give you proper instructions :)

How many is too many??? LOL jokes aside, if you are using keywords for tags/categories in a natural way that makes sense given the content it's associated with, you should not be penalized by Google :) Glad you found my content helpful, thanks for watching!

Great question! If the entire website is in another language then I would set up all the SEO settings in that other language because that's what your ideal website visitors will be using when doing online searches.
