Great video! And if you want to make that process standardisation easy? You know where to come! PLEASE don't bother with the free sop templates online. Save yourself a lot of pain and trouble. We know, that's why we did this!

Great breakdown on PEST analysis. Also, for those who want to dive deeper, there's a useful PEST analysis tool from Creately that works pretty well - especially if you need to map things our and share them with with team. Hope this helps. I read some of their articles as well which speaks about PEST.

Management efficiency is the ratio of labor results to losses. We need to work not on the results of labor, but on the reduction of losses. Losses depend on opportunities. Opportunity starts with education.

You mentioned my favorite way of explaining it to people. "Does the customer want to pay for this?" Everything we do from moving materials to generating reports the customer is paying for. Do they want to pay for this material to be stacked and unstacked? Do they want to pay for this meeting? It really helps relate "value or waste" in everything you do.

Good Lord, please PRONOUNCE the Guy's name right! So far (3:19) he STILL hasn't mentioned the most important phrase that TRANSFORMED the Japanese auto manufacturing industry post WWII - Continuous Process Improvement. #FAIL ....and learn how to pronounce Deming's name, huh?

since this dude has no clue about the development and actual construct of Deming/PDCA here is a pdf WITH SOURCES that takes a modern look the historical development. Modern sources tend to inject lots of FAKE FACTS and POLICAL CORRECTNESS, so beware. deming.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/circling-back.pdf

Lastly, I worked with a French firm that used Continuous Process Improvement, the firm was ranked #1 in it's SIC code IN THE WORLD, had the highest quality product in THE WORLD and led the industry for decades. HERE is a WONDERFUL pdf that uses COMMON words that is based on Deming's 14 Rules of Management. If you talk about DEMING, PRONOUNCE HIS LAST NAME PROPERLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! www.stat.auckland.ac.nz/~mullins/quality/Deming.pdf

Excellently producing goods and service? Doesn't matter what the value is of this product to the customer?
@LeanVlog

Thank you for your comment; indeed, I took customer value for granted. This video introduces some basic concepts of operational excellence, assuming that you already have a product that sells. It doesn't discuss product innovation to create greater value.

This was a good video in keeping with your goal to have them short. Here's a few more ideas. I've been doing what I call lean for service for over 20 years. I find it helps to start with a SIPOC. When you map the current process, it's important to observe it. Managers rarely know what is really happening. There are often different categories of waste in different types of service businesses than in lean manufacturing so it's important to take the time to identify those before tracking them by activity. Before developing the to be process, It is helpful to develop the ideal process and several other versions as explained in lean training first. And of course, change management is always important and a stakeholder analysis is essential. I'm sure these things are missing to keep the video short. But the biggest piece always missing is understanding that the value stream terminates with the customer and their emotional reaction. That's even a missing part in lean manufacturing. Customer satisfaction can be built into the process if this is part of the awareness of those designing the new process.

I like all of your other videos. They actually explain something in a useful way. This just seems like a sales brochure or something. There is no how-to in here at all and no explanation of how anything works. It just says lean construction is good.
