I ended up rating them like this: 1. The Mummy - 67 (B) 2. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - 60 (C) 3. The Mummy Returns - 41 (F) Overall, I think the series is fairly underwhelming as a whole, but I do think the first one is at least somewhat entertaining.

From what I heard, they were hoping to have The Rock on set a lot more than they ended up doing, so I wonder if they had to sort of rush and change the script to work around that, which is why so much of it feels lazy and too much of a rehash.

I thought the movie was funny. It just definitely stupid. But the stupid just works . Never seen the original source material. I know it's famous for like atrocious special effects.

@@InterpretingEverything That was the plan, for some reason. As you say, that movie is weird. But on the beach is Ryuji Takayama, Sadako, Ando Mitsuo, and Ando’s son Takanori, who has been revived by Sadako. Takanori is the male lead in the Sadako 3D (2012), and its sequel Sadako 3D 2 (2013). Then they went beck to what they had used as a replacement timeline (Ringu 2) with Sadako (2019). Then there’s crossover movies which I haven’t seen, but apparently aren’t canon to anything. Like the Halloween movies, complicated af.

They kind of did the same thing with Mark Watney in the Martian. He has a similar personality to Grace (they're basically the same char) and in the movie, he felt a lot more serious. I expect they'll do the same here, play up the sentimental parts of Grace's char more (demanding to be able to work in the lab again for his students, the ending choice he makes where he goes from this guy who runs away to a much more confident, competent man, etc). Though I don't know if thats a bad thing, this one definitely hit me in the feels more than the Martian did. Edit: Spoilers -This book is better the less you know, don't mention rocky to people that haven't read it, I was almost spoiled before my friend told me to stop reading this one movie synopsis that gave away WAY too much. That part drew me in so hard even after the set up premise prior really drew me in.

I was a paid extra in this.... almost, the scene got cut. One wish was to be rockstar so I and a couple other extras that day were there or the close up crowd shots at the end of the stage. A stage hand was supposed to pass out fake joints to us to pretend to smote BUT Brendan wanted to meet the extras so he passed them out instead. There were only about 8 of but he came out, gave us joints, thank us all for being there and helping out, then gave us a big group hug. FYI, I'm not an actor at all. They had Reel Big Fish play a free shot there to fill small stadium's seats for shots of the seats and those of us that were over 18 were invited back the next day to be paid extra's for the closeups. Just my friend and I did it. The other extras were background extras for a living.

I totally agree with you. I like that the creepy factor wasn't there, it felt more realistic. I was very familiar with the Manson case when i watched it and i was impressed. It's one of the only ones based around the people, not the horror. I would however like to see a movie of Charlie's life that led him to what he became.

This movie has been recommended to me, wanted to watch a review. Just want to point out, Airplane! was a spoof of a specific movie, Zero Hour! so much that they bought the rights to the movie to avoid any potential legal issues.

If Milla Jovovich movies were disappointing for being centered on Alice character, it had the quality of going its on way from the start and just having some references but this particular movie was trying to be faithful to the original game(s). So this movie was really disappointing to me cause the characters don't match especially Wesker like come on the original villain! But also why Claire is coming in town without her motorcycle when she has it later on and the whole sequence with her is literally teen from RE2 Remake??? Also she's not looking for Chris and exactly the movie intertwines both RE1 and RE2 and the way they made it doesn't make sense just like in term of chronology the movie doesn't respect it at all and of course the special effects... Basically its a 2021 movie, that was supposed to actually respect the games and that makes it terrible in my opinion because even with the experience they had with the previous movies and all the games and the remakes of the franchise, they couldn't do it right.

Thank you so much for your honest reviews out of the regular "it's sh*it its all about Milla Jovovich and not a real Resident Evil movie and the movies are just dumb anyway". I do really like the movies AND I love Resident Evil games and of course the way they go away from the Resident Evil games places and characters (with only a few in certain movies only...) disappointed me but on their own I do really appreciate the movies and people just forget that this is an adaptation and adaptations in general aren't the most accurate versions from their original stuff, and that doesn't make a movie being "bad", you have to considerate a few things before saying so. All that to say thank you ^^

Honestly, while the OGs are there more technically, they still barely do anything. I don't have an issue with them being there more, but they should actually feel like an important part of the story, not just something that's just sort of tacked on.
@AndyGilleand
@AndyGilleand 2 ай бұрын
Btw, when you're about to do a big spoiler, instead of necessarily telling people to just go watch the movie, you should say something like "If you don't want to be spoiled, please skip to the time here" and point to a time on screen where people can skip to in the video where you're done talking about the spoiler (easy enough to add in the edit) and then give them a few seconds to react to that before moving on and talking about the spoiler.
